A middle-aged bloke painting and playing with toy soldiers. Stuff you can expect to see: Bolt Action, Warhammer, Dreadball, Infinity, Saga and me titting about.
Trench Crusade 1 - Trench Communicant and Ammo Monk
Hot on the heels of the second Kickstarter, here's some minis from the first campaign. This setting is a super-grimdark alternative history where humans are battling the literal forces of Hell, based on artwork from Mike Franchina .

A bit of a departure for this channel but here we go. On Saturday 16th November 2024 I watched the fire engine getting towed from Withington Fire Station in Manchester.

Darktide the Minitatures Game - Poxwalkers
มุมมอง 632 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another trip to Darktide the miniatures game. Here we see the Poxwalkers, the horrible smelly diseased cultists of the chaos lord of decay Nurgle. Hold your nose and have a look!

Terrain Catchup

I did a bunch of fantasy terrain last autumn and here it all is. Buildings from Apocalypse Miniatures, scatter from Crooked Dice and Alternative Armies, and some walls from Renedra.
Silver Bayonet 8 - In Which I get a little cross
มุมมอง 992 ปีที่แล้ว
It's another lovely piece from Grand Manner.
Sliver Bayonet 7 - Shrine
มุมมอง 452 ปีที่แล้ว
After hitting a bit of a bump in the road as regards time, energy and concentration I've knocked up some terrain. Here's a lovely shrine from Grand Manner painted for Napoleonic Spain.
Silver Bayonet 6 - Overthinking Basing
มุมมอง 1072 ปีที่แล้ว
A return (in places a slightly out of focus return) to the Silver Bayonet with my finally getting started on the bases.
Silver Bayonet 5 - Bandits! Kinda.
มุมมอง 1022 ปีที่แล้ว
Some bandits (kinda) for Silver Bayonet. The first batch of guerillas of two from Warlord Games.
Silver Bayonet 4 - More Zombies
มุมมอง 652 ปีที่แล้ว
Perhaps seriously over-catering now. Third batch of monsters, second batch of Mantic Zombies for Silver Bayonet. Unless I pick up the official revenant minis I swear I won't do any more. Enjoy!
Silver Bayonet 3 - Zombies!
มุมมอง 622 ปีที่แล้ว
Actually I think they prefer to be called Revenants. Second batch of monsters for Silver Bayonet, some Mantic Zombies and another go with the contrast paints. Enjoy!
Silver Bayonet 2 - Goblins
มุมมอง 1032 ปีที่แล้ว
Second Silver Bayonet vid, first actual batch of minis. These are goblin town goblins from GW. They're lovely minis let down by being my first proper play with contrast paint. Ah well, we live and learn.

It’s been in a crash
@@richardbarber8023 Cheers, I did wonder why
I would say did they forgot to pay the tax on the Vehicl but they do not have pay tax 😂
🎉🎉🎉 congrats on finishing your project, they look amazing! 🎉🎉🎉
Sounds like you want a game :)
@@WGRevival don't threaten me with a good time x
They look superb
Cheers Justin!
The paint job you did on these lads is really really good.
@@JaneArschavirHodgePodgeDays thanks sausage
really cool
Cheers James!
Troops look good
Cheers Justin!
I am so far behind, I need to set your videos to auto play and catch up on all you’ve been doing. Minis look great. Looking forward to seeing more!
I won't be putting out too many :) life's so busy right now.
@@WGRevival amen
Thinking of home brewing other characters. Running two Ogryns seems certain. :)
That's one way to do it. I wonder if double tanks might take away some of the challenge. Still like the traffic lights in my city the rules are only suggestions. Do whatever is the most fun. (Also there are negative reviews on the minis supplied but the Ogg is superb!)
@@WGRevival I am thinking having only two activations will balance it out…getting outnumbered may even be too much for them.
@@TheJankmasterthat does sound like a fun mod.
Really cool to see you back
Cheers James
:) D
You're alive!!! Nice work on the terrain! It's been 2 months, so we should be seeing another video. eh? Ha! Hope all is well.
Thanks man. I'm doing ok here. Still painting little worthy of a video just yet. Hope you're doing well too
(: D
Nice update WG 😁
Cheers HP!
Ah, he returns! ☺
It's been a while VK!
Someone’s been busy! Would it be a lean-to rather than a porch?
Ah a lean to. Thank you!
That's some cracking terrain,liking the cottage's
Cheers BMP. They're lovely models.
Hi, I saw your review and am really intrigued. Do you know where I can buy a copy of these? Not bothered whether it's a print or a pdf copy. It looks right up my street. Thanks, in advance. For any help. Regards Stewart
According to the publisher's website (Dashing dice games) it's no longer in print. If you can't find one second hand your best bet might be something like Silver Bayonet from Osprey Games. I think that would adapt to this period wonderfully
I used to love Rentaghost as a kid
It's a genuine British classic 👻🐴
yes a BOO TO YOUZ I SAY first ALL SOO
And a happy Halloween to you too Mr RG
Very nice little pieces. 👍
what is the size of your bases?
Haha, that was funny.
Clever :) Looks great! You'll have a lovely set of terrain pieces real soon. Keep it up!
Really impressive mate
Nice one mate
Cool work m8
Amazing video, love your Chanel. Where do you buy most of your miniatures
Thanks for watching. I get them from all over - with more manufacturers coming for this project. I get lots from eBay, the Grand Manner stuff was straight from them, the "official" minis all from North Star, the guerrillas direct from Warlord.
coolio bud
Cheers Dread
I do like your splendid shrine...and base!
Thanks Phil
Very nice mate. Good to see you back
Cheers Leon I'll have more soon
Very cool shrine for the game. Keep at it! 👍
Cheers 👍👍
That looks nice mate, whatever you need to paint to get you back painting helps
Cheers Justin. It's got the juices flowing a bit
So... I'm guessing that you over-thought basing so much that you collapsed from the effort? 😉 J/K, I was wondering how you were getting on with these? And, unrelated, have you taken a look at Mantic's Firefight? New game looks great fun, and the Imperial Guard that you were working on a while back would be *perfect* for a GCPS force. 😊
Heh yes. I burn out earlier than ever these days
Very nice mate. You are indeed the ace of base(s). 🙂 I’ll get my coat. 🤦♂️
Very nice mate. I think the priest works pretty well as a bandit actually. There’s plenty of examples of dishonest clergy out there. 😂
Love the channel keep up the good work
They all look good to me mate
Cheers Justin!
Some beautiful minis and bases here, well done!
Thanks Phil.
Looking good WG. So many ways to base things they look good to me.
Cheers Palmer. I like adding flock in. It's relatively low effort to introduce another texture.
I watched to the end! 😂
Only a crazy person would watch till the end :)
Nothing like a good master-basing session... 😏 As daft as it sounds, all the greenery options look fine to me; it's the gravel that looks a bit off. You see, the gravel is both very coarse relative to the model size/scale, and it's also pretty uniform too. If you get yourself some washed sharp building sand from the local DIY place (something like £5 for a 25kg bag - AKA a lifetime's supply), and mix some of that with your current basing grit, it'll produce much more natural-looking basing texture. In turn, all the tufts/turf/flock will look much better on it too. Briefly, on tufts: if you have some that aren't too neon green, you can drybrush them a bit with some dusty browns and tans, which weathers them a bit and looks good for Spain. Finally, some yellow flower tufts might not be too bad either; a lot of Manzanilla and other scrubby plants with yellow flowers grow wild in Spain, and its not uncommon for large-ish areas to be covered in these. (Edit: spelling...)
Cheers JH. I've based with sand before and prefer gravel. Yes it's overscale but I think it looks better from three feet away, if not under the extreme closeup of TH-cam. I like the idea of flower tufts.
Very cool stuff mate - nice varied setting 😎
Cheers Pete. There's a lot to add, and a nice way to dip my toes into the Peninsular war.
"Lord, forgive me for what I am about to do!" BLAM BLAM
Cheers Janks. The lord helps those who help themselves (including this French supply train)
Very impressive painting mate like the priest
Cheers Justin. They're really fun minis
Does look like a great game. Cool painting m8
Cheers Nick. I'm having fun
Cool zombies...
Nice Zombies. 🙂
Welcome back m8. Wicked work
Thanks Nick. I'm enjoying it again.
Lovely work. The official figures do look the business but these guys should serve you very nicely. 👍
I think so. I'm sorely tempted though :)
