Replacing Electrolytic Capacitors and Power Cable in 1959 Gibson GA-5

A summary of the components, method and results in replacing the factory installed electrolytic capacitors and installing a three-wire power cable in a 1959 Gibson GA-5. This amp, because its chassis is manufactured in early 1958, lacks the "Skylark" text that is found on later models, including some 1959 models. Gibson could not confirm the date it was sold but the original transformers and sp...

Greg Piccolo and Heavy Juice - "Keep on Tryin'"
By any normal standard that first vocal verse is masterful - reminds me of Felix Cavaliere again - but Piccolo's standards are the highest - brought his own thing when the job was to cover Fats Domino or Wilson Pickett with the Roomful, then pull off some Arnett Cobb or Jug Ammons with the tenor
Pikes Peak Panther Palooza 2025
Cool Car. Still. Just needs a blower and 4.11 gears
RIP Mercury
But but if if if they've played all over the place.
Legend! Underestimated due to low exposure.... Very much like .... but in different genre: John Prine Jerry Jeff Walker ... Warren Zevon to a certain extent .... Tom Waits Tony Joe White.... all from different backgrounds but they create phenomenal music.......
A review of the schematic is necessary to determine the circuit components and their function.
Do early Solid State Amplifier's with the two prong power cords still have the death cap or is that just tube amplifiers?
I just received an old Silvertone solid state amp for rebuilding, and it has the death cap attached to the hot wire with the grounded lead bolted directly to the chassis.
Great highway cruiser. Cool car if you're a panther enthusiast. That's about it tho...
lol yes:) and a lot still are low mileage
i still want one
Would this make a better Police Car than the Crown Vic?
Basically same car but the price
They were speed enforcement vehicles in Florida
@@SitesThatSuck No no no and again no it is not the same car😂 So much misinformation. Just like a V-6 Charger isn't a Hellcat Sure the shall maybe the same and that's it. Everything else is different Including the wire harness body harness engine transmission rear end. need I keep going. So no it's not the same car at all. If we're going to say it's the same car then I guess all cars that have four wheels and doors and an engine Are the same car. And to say they look similar while there's a lot of cars that look alike doesn't make them the same car. So to say they're the same hardly!!! . The only people that say it's the same are the ones who either one can afford it😉 or two just don't understand what it is point blank😏 You know the typical know-it-all keyboard Warriors of the internet what can I say.....
@@markjones2185 I own one myself it's a panther car with a 4 valve in it that's the main difference
@@neilbrown82 in Simpletons mine state sure🤣😂 whatever floats your boat my friend. I'm done commenting with this bulshit. I'll remember this when you ever decide to sell yours I'm going to lowball the shit out of you and say it it's just a 4 valve Crown Vic.🤷♂️
Tremendous Accel??? Not at all. FIRST thing it needs is a set of 4.10's to wake up the LAZY auto...
That and a 3000 stall converter and tune will cut that 7.5 way down. It's like a whole new car. Had one for 13 years. Would like it back again.
11:18 if you get that wrong you go farming as they say .lololol I like farming
When these came out I was eagerly looking forward to a test drive to confirm I was going to get one. Looked badass. Sounded cool. Then I drove it. It was a pig. Was very disappointed with the performance. So I find it interesting and a little odd for Mr. Jones to immediately say he liked the power first.
My dad has one. I can confirm is was slow. It was heavy and big. Work today’s specs it would have been interesting
Stop it!
Do you work on tube radio too.great video ,I like the way you mounted those caps.
I'd love to have one of those!!!!!
Nice
Nothing quick or nimble about this two ton 4 door boat.
The Marauder had good potential, but it was over-hyped and realistically a slug. The 4.6 dohc looked big and bad and the numbers suggested something badass, but it was truthfully pretty unimpressive. It was supposed to be a rival for the Impala SS,but it fell remarkably short. The SS was rated at 270 hp (underrated really),but would blow the doors off the Marauder. And with its simple suspension and smaller tires still handled better and rode betterthan the 'big, bad Merc' with it's hd struts over spring front and watts rear suspension . Most of surviving Marauders you see out for sale today have significant power upgrades because what they came with was just not satisfying. Thats why they were only made for two years. GM only made the Impala SS for three years, but only because they eliminated the b-bodies altogether to retool for more SUV's . A big let down for many law enforcement agencies and big car performance enthusiasts, who feel they could have easily kept developing better and better cars, but were for forced to turn to ford, who without competition ,kept turning out bland,so so cars.
I'm a GM guy. The Marauder had too low a gearing for the engine, And a restrictive exhaust manifolds on it. With a custom equal length headers on this and a custom exhaust, the torque curve would flatten out, and it Would leave the Impalla SS behind.
All u need it the chip put 1 on my and blew the door off ss
How would it compare to the CVPI?

Wow, Awesome, Thanks!!
And everything else Piccolo plays sounds like Gene Ammons, or Arnett Cobb - it simply does not get funkier
Amazing! An Illinois Jacquet Clone!!!! You even move like Jacquet and sound great.
this has been good company this morning. Thanks.
I saw Piccolo in Houston recently. He has changed his show dramatically. I asked him about the RFB and he said "That was a long time ago". He played the guitar and sax. 3 piece band. Sort of a remnant of his former self.
damn that piccolo is a natural soloist
@iceman273 Sadly, Bob "Bubba" Enos passed on before this was recorded. He always seemed to enjoy playing, and put on a great show. RIP Bubba.
Too Bad Porky Couldn't have been there, loved hearing him play.
HOW is this possible??TO Ronnie Earl it is!!
Bob Enos must have been missed here. Roomful horns with Duke. What a lineup! I wonder if Chris Vachon and Duke played together as well? Vachon is not part of the original lineup[ but hes the heart and soul (and the brain) of Roomful today.
@mikelawct Preston Hubbard, bass player with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, after the great Keith Ferguson (RIP). Enjoy Preston Hubbard on a lot of T'Birds vids on youtube. W/ Lou Ann Barton, too, btw.
Great video! But actually, this wasn't originally Freddie King. There's some debate as to who first recorded it, but my personal favorite was Otis Spann. I believe he recorded it back in 1926 or somewhere around there. These guys are doing a great job of it though! :)
If you kicked yourself for not attending this show then don't miss the recently announced encore: Rhodes Island Blues Reunion, Lupo's, Providence RI, December 11th.
Sooo bummed I missed this. Never forgive meself.
