      No, i live in New Zealand orient is the correct use, orienteering is the us of a map and a compass, oriented is the past tense of orient and orientate is what you are doing when you are orienteering. I did orienteering when i was in high school, believe it or not as a timed sport. Orient can also be used to refer to asiatic countries. And while people do use the word orientated the past tense and the present tense are the same i.e orient. There until about five years ago no such word as orientated only oriented. But this is another case of nasty mish mash words being inroduced.. btw I am Dyslexic and was taught this by my english teacher many years ago.

    2:00 this is actually very clever for large islanded objects with clearance to spare, tons of time saved on movements, less motion system wear, and better surface finishes. not many downsides if it's not high up on the model(thermal shifting could occur if you let the 2nd areas 'base' region cool down too much before putting filament there.)

    Good Job. I wouldn't print the case on Y axis, it will break at any fall. Also, you should always use flux before soldering as it improves the melting a lot.

  • @jackipiegg

    6:49 Yikes, you need to pre-tin and flood the wires before doing that, also flux!! Look for FPV xt60 soldering. Also, I'd add some hot glue for some strain relief/prevent shorts.

    • @7MBoosted
      @7MBoosted หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FrodeBergetonNilsen out if curiosity, as I do not print and have minimal material science knowledge, why is it dangerous to have a PC case made of PLA? What I do know is old types of PLA are prone to warping under high heat, but that is at over 150°F which I wouldn't expect the plastic itself to reach when used as a PC case. Another thought I had was that it is conductive in some way, but also under the impression that most plastics are not electrically conductive. So why is it dangerous, honestly, not trolling?

    • @FrodeBergetonNilsen
      @FrodeBergetonNilsen หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@7MBoosted ALL types of PLA is prone to warping at about 50C. If not, it isn't PLA, just called that. Every time some tests these so called "high temp" PLAs, they are not temperature resistant. When you start figuring out what the "modern" PLAs are, then you realize that they are composites. With that our of the way, the use of PLA is dangerous because of the malleability of the material. Under any form of stress, like gravity, it deforms over time, or no time at all. There have been plenty of reports of motherboards sagging and the like. Or heatsink ducts simply melting. PLA melt if exposed to direct sunlight. Give it some thought. What could happen to a computer if the case turns into liquid? Seriously. Because that is how dumb this question is. Your claim of 150F is flat out false. For PLA it is. You probably also need to get up to speed of where the heat is at, in a computer. Some components gets really hot, like VRM. For a ITX build, that kind of is an historic problem. Even ASA and ABS starts to soften at 120C, which some b450 ITX boards were operating at. So stop the trolling. Go home. Stop lying about the properties of PLA. The properties of a material does not change over time and do not go "modern". Stop flat out lying. Be responsible. Don not pretend that something that is a proven hazard to be safe, and us who warns about it is trolling. Because that is abusive. For the record, ASA and ABS produces toxic gases when burning. They do not solve the problems of this world. Not to mention, that PLA is using food as their raw material, in a world struggling to feed its population. So go on, with YOUR trolling. Or grow up.

      I can see stacking 2 on top of each other in the front panel, as exhaust, I can't see where the other 2 would go, and I personally prefer less fans as each fan adds a bit of noise, I'm looking at putting a single 90x15 fan in the larger version I'm currently prototyping.

    1:39 I lol'd when you used an LED power supply. Those have bad ripple & noise, probably 200-300mV Vpp. Look up "ATX current ripple standard", 120mV is the recommended spec. Your motherboard components like mosfet/cap will die faster than expected if you continue to use that PSU as its not rated for that.

    • @arkatub
      @arkatub 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess I'll get an oscilloscope to test this, I tried several LED PSUs like this, some worked others didn't, I noticed the working ones came with much bigger capacitors, the pico PSU may do some smoothing, I also tried the Xbox brick which works until you run a game or something that uses power, then it cuts out.

      I did think about this but I wanted to make it compact as possible, one prototype the GPU fan touched the side so I added a few mm to be comfortable, I'm thinking to make a bigger version with more relaxed dimensions, accomodate taller CPU coolers and longer GPUs, can add some slide in dust filters to this version, may delay the follow up video a few days to include this.

    Have you tested the plastic parts that hold the wires against the battery ends for fatigue? While I don't know the specifications of the plastic, it would seem to me that there would be some 'give' in it after months/years to the point contact is no longer strong against the end of the battery. have you done high current test to see how much that small wire heats?
