My dad was a workaholic and alcoholic who never had time for me as a kid. However he was a good provider financially and I always knew he loved me even if he didn’t know how to show it. He died in 2010 and I miss him to this day.

This is how i got raised up. My father is dead now. I’ve tried to do the opposite my whole life. To my kids. And it hurts so bad when I fail. I’m a stepfather of two. And when they told me. You are our father. And they told me with tears in their eyes. I just fell to pieces. Crying. Never thought I was good enough. Apparently I did something good. Parenting isn’t easy. But sometimes it pays off.

Im 16 and my dad made a lot of sacrifices for me my sister and our mom growing up He had to work almost all the time and was rarely home and when he was he had to sleep because he was too tired from working so much I still don’t see him as much as I’d like to usually for about half an hour before I go to school and for 10 minutes before he goes to work He hates this song because it reminds him of his dad His dad never made time for him and now the time he can make for me is short but he tries and I appreciate everything he’s done When I’m a man I’m not going to be like my grandfather I’ll do my best to make time for my dad and when I have them my kids too
