This is so epic. It makes me want to be up there too. Recently I've been thinking about getting an aircraft of my own. I'm still in the early stages of the decision; talking with a local CFI to set up a demo flight and make sure I know what I'm getting myself into... and then start training. In the meantime I'm scouting for hangar space and trying to decide what sort of plane I want. And maybe daydreaming a bit, eh? I know I want something with first class visibility, a low stall speed, and (for later) a passenger seat. I figure that probably puts me in the market for a tandem pusher LSA. So far, I'm considering the S-18, the Quicksilver GT 500, and the Lockwood Super Drifter. I don't know if there are other comparable options that I haven't found yet. These three all look pretty similar on paper, but I don't know. I was really happy when I found a Quicksilver online at a good price... but every video I see online seems to show Quicksilver pilots nursing their aircraft along with kid gloves, as if they don't really trust it in a bank... whereas every video of the S-18 seems to be like yours, wheeling around like a leaf on the wind, with total confidence and huge grins. I don't know if that's just coincidence, or what. Do you have an opinion about the other aircraft in the class? Or for that matter, any general words of wisdom to share with an aspiring pilot? I really like the music by the way. It strikes just the right mood for a relaxing flight.
