Marian Consecration Fruits from Saying Yes Despite Not Feeling It, featuring Tammi McCarthy
Tammi McCarthy shares about the fruits of redoing the Marian Consecration a couple decades later, saying yes despite not feeling it. Mary, of course, like a good Mom, throws in a few funny twists!

The Gathering: Where Women Come to Connect
Yes! I liked that prayer to love people the way I love my children. I often expect people to love my children the way they love theirs. I think I should do the same. And that about injustice against my children. I’m living it right now at church with one of my adult children being treated less than because of their poor choices. We think church should be aplace of acceptance. And yes accountability but some people wear their sins in their sleeve. How I have felt in my heart Mary saying to me that she’s is inviting me to share in the suffering she had with her son. He was rejected and had no fault of his own. I tell her no thanks I’m good. It’s too painful and I can’t do it ;(. This is another invitation to forgive:(. And in regard to silence it was used in my house growing up as a punishment and even though it hurt so much somehow I found myself doing the same with my husband and my children. Being in silence in the Chapel is a way of healing.
Amen!
I love all the ways that this devotional comes back to Encounter. Christina, I loved when you talked about seeking freedom from "white knuckling" it and relying on ourselves. Lisa, your comment about how we "create our own hurdles and obstacles" is so true. I also loved when Stefanit said that she prays "Lord, help me love people like i love my children." Finding God in the silence has always been the biggest motivator for me in my day. Thanks ladies.
Sooo good, thanks, sister!
And that about daddy and daughter relationship it’s something i had to work on intentionally growing without a father.
@@cynthiajohnson8463 sorry to hear this. Love the awareness and intentionality that you have. Thank you for sharing yourself with us on this journey, Cynthia! 🙏🏼♥️
I relate to the no feeling good enough to do any kind of mission. Not even within my family. I try to bring them to church so God’s people can tell them about God. I guess my presence among them and my service to them would be my mission and that would be enough.
Seems like you downplay your role in their deeper conversion. Your actions and words have more influence than you realize.
Soo good! To me my almonds are to try to pray as many prayers as I can. Catholic podcasts and videos instead of allowing my hunger to take me to God.
Such great insight, Cynthia!
So much to cover in this first week of Encountering Emmanuel. I love when Monique reminds us that there are "part of ourselves that need conversion". Yes.....so true. I love what Christie said about having "Joy of Missing out", that we trust in joy where the Lord has us. Also the beauty of the Church in offering us times like Advent to have these holy "resets". Lastly, I love when Lisa says that Joy is not always a feeling but it is a way of living. Amen!!!! Happy Advent friends!
@@WhispersofLoveandFaith JOMO - new goals!! Thanks for your insights ♥️
What if when mama put us in our rooms after our tantrums she prayed with us and explained that being silent and alone after a tantrum with Jesus and Mary can be healing.
@@debbiebradel3866 that would be completely different- I would consider that very loving, as well as very helpful in learning how to regulate your emotions. It’s understanding. I pray more mom’s would do something like this!
@@debbiebradel3866 thank you for sharing an approach that could provide healing and grace
There was so much goodness is this discussion. I loved how Aimee talked about how God is not just "sustaining us" but "satisfying us"!! I love how she also talked about this concept of us keeping "backup almonds" or a "safety net" for ourselves when we believe that God will not sustain or satisfy. We have come to rely on ourselves verses trusting God with, what Lisa called, our "hunger pangs". So good and so true. I love how Bridget reminded us that we are called to love whom the Lord puts in front of us, whether that be a large number or just one. I also love how Bridget shared about how we may not see the fruits of our labors in this life. Beautiful ladies.
@@WhispersofLoveandFaith “you satisfy the hungry heart, with gift of finest wheat…” Yes to all this ♥️
Interesting so I guess I have mama issues and that’s why it’s so difficult for me to connect with her and pray daily Rosary hmm interesting
So sorry to hear this. What a grace to recognize this, Cynthia, and see how those wounds have affected you, your ability to show empathy, and your relationship with the Blessed Mother. Ask Mary to help you heal in these areas, and look for the tenderness that she wants to give through relationship---with you, and your relationship with your children. We'll be praying too. Thank you for sharing this, the mother relationship is central and complex---so many of us have "mama issues."
Hugs, … I hope this knowledge helps with your prayer life. I know it helped mine, as prior to figuring this out, my spiritual life would hit a wall, as I would blame myself for not being able to do a daily rosary like other “good” Catholics do. I actually had a priest say “what’s wrong with you? I’ve never heard that!” when telling him about what would happen when I would pray the rosary. Talk about demoralizing! But God always has His work arounds, and we can lean on those. Find a prayer devotion that fits YOU and stick with that 😀 it gives you time to work out the “rosary” issues in peace.
@@MoniqueGonzalez1212 AMEN! Love the empathy and sharing what can help from experience! May the Lord continue to restore you through where He has you, who you're with, and this mission from Our Lady! xo
@@littlewithgreatlove thank you Lisa I will ask her to help me. And for healing and the grace to not fear to be tender
@@MoniqueGonzalez1212 oh no Monique that’s so sad what that priest did to you. Thankfully our Mother is stronger and smarter than anyone out there. She found a way to your heart and will do it with me too🙏🏼
I relate to this part so much. I was raised by a single mother and that’s what I was taught. Though it up. Get it done. And true didn’t teach me how to be empathetic and to be tender with my children
The Plans 😭. So I didn’t messed up my whole life? 😭🙏🏼😭🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
No you did not! We love this takeaway for you, Cynthia! God bless you -- onward! 🙏🏼♥️

Thank you for continuing to pray daily for my son’s reversion to the faith; I’d like to mention him by his name, Luke.🙏🏻
We are blessed to be able to pray with and for your intentions. We will add Luke’s name to our prayer list. God bless you
Thanks for another great day of prayer. So blessed by this time.
Lord, make us humble of heart. I ask for your prayers for my ministry work, for the mental health of my family, and for God's holy will in my life.
Thank you for sharing that post I wrote. It's such a beautiful reminder for me, as well, of my mission and His call on my heart.
I meant to comment the other day. Thanks for the prayers for all the Kairos retreat. Eager to hear today how everything went.
I love being more aware of the stations of cross on church walls during lent … and finding St Veronica station #6 …
For the reversion of my son to the Catholic faith.
Amen, prayers for this intention. God bless
Prayers for my children who will be attending their Kairos retreat this weekend. May the Holy Spirit run wild among these teens. Come Holy Spirit.
Yes, praying for this, AMEN!!
Such a beautiful reminder that we are to be constantly praying for renewal....being students in the school of the Holy Spirit
Excited to journey along with others in this consecration.
For my children and their vocations. For deeper intimacy with Our Lord.
Amen, praying with you for this, Christina!!

I am so glad to see that both of you are young women who are involved in finding out about Sister Josefa Menendez. I am 73 years and I read her book almost 15 years ago. No one knew heard of her when I spoke to them about her. I love her.
Wow...I read her book/The Way of Divine Love and it scared the living day lights out of me. Some of her taking to hell was most incredible. I almost couldn't comprehend her magnitude of how GOD used her. Even though I was scared I picked up some of her information. Whenever, I enter the church I always do the Sign of the Cross (5) times before I sit in my pew in honor of Our Lord's (5) wounds.
Good to recognize yourself for the small wins, just try not to celebrate by buying more stuff. Not saying you should punish ish or be hard on yourself but recognition of the fails (buying more stuff you didn’t breed)?is just as important
So sad I missed it! Looks like a great time!
