Matt Wiltshire - Hope and Worry
มุมมอง 185Kปีที่แล้ว
Nashville parents are thinking about school safety, like never before. As the new school year approaches, we will be feeling both hopeful and worried. I believe we can make Metro Nashville Public Schools the best public school system in America - but we can only have the best schools if we have the safest schools. Keeping Nashville schools safe is very personal. I am not only a MNPS graduate my...

Happy Birthday Matt
มุมมอง 143ปีที่แล้ว
Today, I invite all of Nashville to join me in saying Happy birthday, Matt! Like all of you, our life is busy! We are both running after kids, making dinner, doing the dishes, working and trying to make time for one another, all the while trying to make our community better. Our time together is our point of recharge and calm. In all the hustle, I have not gotten Matt a gift yet! The kids and I...
How can Nashville become an education leader?
มุมมอง 143ปีที่แล้ว
We have a real chance and a responsibility to make Nashville a city that leads the nation in education. I know that with the wealth of experienced educators, universities, nonprofits, and creative minds we have in our city - and with strong leadership - we can make Nashville schools the best in the country. I am running for mayor so that I can be that leader, the one who brings together all of ...

I don't know why I've had this targeted to me. But can't one just add property tax over 15 squared meters per person, financing building from that (do that as 100% city expenditure to not pay taxes - it's not a business, you don't sell anything, so why would you?). Don't sell that, just distribute based on the need + amount of work person can put in the community. Take effort from people - if they live in those new buildings, they have to work to make other ppl lives better (construction, massages, counselling). And, of course, mass transit/shared vehicles + enough of sustainable greenery/environment. Otherwise, that would not really sound like a real plan, imho.

So who do you think is responsible for the ridiculous construction in this city?

Are going to repeal the bill that allows toll roads? If not, you ain't worthy. Legal defrauding of the people is unacceptable. We didnt vote for toll roads. Greedy politicians line their pockets through back door deals with the owners of the tolls.

I think Karl Dean was a detriment to Nashville. He declined to talk to a philanthropist who was willing to donate 200 new houses on metro land just after the flood when people were homeless. . He then went on to donate them in other areas who were willing to at least meet with him. John Cooper is another subject. Just today in the news he said that the NEW Titans stadium would be funded by the State, and others, then went on to say not the people. Well, what is the state but people and their taxes. We need less spending and more attention to people like me whose taxes have doubled within the last 3 years. I'm probably not your voter.
