South Asia vs Southeast Asia Military Budget 1960 to 2023
The military budgets of South Asia and Southeast Asia reflect the regions' unique geopolitical landscapes, economic capabilities, and security concerns. South Asia, home to significant regional powers like India and Pakistan, has historically seen substantial military expenditures driven by longstanding rivalries and the need for robust defense capabilities. India, the largest spender in the region, has consistently increased its defense budget to modernize its military and maintain strategic dominance, particularly in response to perceived threats from China and Pakistan. Pakistan, though with a smaller economy, allocates a significant portion of its GDP to defense due to its adversarial relationship with India.
In contrast, Southeast Asia comprises a more diverse group of countries with varying levels of economic development and security needs. Nations like Singapore and Indonesia have relatively high defense budgets, focusing on modernizing their armed forces and securing maritime boundaries. Singapore, despite its small size, invests heavily in advanced military technology to maintain a qualitative edge. Indonesia, the largest country in the region by population and geographic size, prioritizes naval and air force enhancements to safeguard its vast archipelago. Other countries, such as Thailand and Vietnam, are also increasing their defense spending to address regional security challenges, including territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
The disparity in military spending between South Asia and Southeast Asia can be attributed to several factors. South Asia's focus on conventional military power and nuclear capabilities contrasts with Southeast Asia's emphasis on modernization and regional cooperation. The presence of nuclear-armed states like India and Pakistan in South Asia further escalates defense budgets, as both nations invest heavily in maintaining and advancing their nuclear arsenals. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian countries, while also concerned about external threats, often prioritize technological upgrades and interoperability within the framework of regional alliances like ASEAN.
Economic capacity plays a crucial role in shaping the defense budgets of both regions. India's growing economy allows it to sustain high levels of military expenditure without compromising other development goals significantly. Pakistan, however, faces economic constraints that limit its defense spending, despite its strategic imperatives. In Southeast Asia, wealthier nations like Singapore can afford substantial defense budgets, while less affluent countries must balance military needs with pressing economic and social challenges. This economic diversity influences the scale and focus of military investments across Southeast Asia.
Regional security dynamics and alliances also impact military spending. In South Asia, the India-Pakistan rivalry is the primary driver of defense expenditures, with both nations engaging in an arms race to ensure strategic parity. Conversely, Southeast Asian nations often prioritize collaborative security initiatives and multilateral frameworks to address common threats, such as piracy and regional conflicts. This cooperative approach helps manage and potentially reduce the need for exorbitant individual military budgets, although significant investments are still made to ensure national security and contribute to regional stability.
In summary, while both South Asia and Southeast Asia allocate substantial resources to their military budgets, their approaches are shaped by distinct geopolitical realities, economic capacities, and security priorities. South Asia's defense spending is heavily influenced by the India-Pakistan rivalry and nuclear deterrence, whereas Southeast Asia focuses on modernization, maritime security, and regional cooperation. Understanding these nuances provides a clearer picture of the strategic considerations driving military investments in these dynamic and diverse regions.

I knew Romania is doing really good, but I didn't realize we are so much richer than Greece now. I hope the whole of Balkans can be lifted from this depression we've been in. This is proof that the only reason we have been poor in the Balkans is the soviets, all we have to do is recover. ❤ And for anyone wondering, you can really tell our GDP is much higher, it's not like Russia where the GDP doesn't reflect the living conditions. My neighborhood in Bucharest is starting to look straight-up futuristic even if 5 years ago it was still looking communistic, and there are is a new rich neighborhood being developed with skyscrapers. I'm really happy now that I reflect on this.

what kind of world does a person live in, if all the current ranking of the top 5 GDP is China-USA-India-Japan-Russia. Thanks to the expansion of the BRICS, the GDP of the countries will rise even more and while Europe will lick the ass of the United States, it will remain at the bottom

Interesting how they show the UK to have one of the highest GDP's per capita in the EU when they left in January 2020. Also interesting that the GDP per capita in the UK has risen faster than most EU states since it left despite the doomsayers forecasts. Edit: The EU's days are numbered unless drastic changes are made!
Bro like shut up this is literally a channel with 6k subs making some random predictions about the future. Stop acting like this is actual data
@@zandertest5335 6k subs or not, my comment is not random it's fact. Clearly the guy publishing this channel has no knowledge of the fact that the UK left the EU! As for forecasts, it forecasts the UK's economic growth as an EU member 🥸
The UK forecast looks very suspicious as Britain has experienced a severe economic decline, stagnation, burgeoning energy and rental crisis. Even the British economists acknowledge that Brexit was a mistake for Britain. Lots of newly created bureaucracy and trade tariffs with EU, British companies eith thousands of jobs moving to EU, so much of revenue money lost as a result of Brexit. Majority of Englishmen regret the Brexit according to recent survey.
leaving the EU cost you more than 100b£ per year. During the last years your national debt has risen from 65% to more than 100% of GDP. And there GDP figures most likely include your phantastic Iinflation effects. In reality your living standards are approaching those of Poland.
@@BaruchSpinozaOfficial That really depends on what propaganda publications you read, the is a lot of bitterness in the EU regarding Brexit, but living here I can tell you the majority still think the same.

because it's in south asia
Less populated coutries gdp per capita would be always high because it would be divided by population. Money value is higher in india and minimum vages 6 times or something higher than Bangladesh and neighboring coutries , there are people coming to india with out working visa and working in india often caught by police from neighboring countries.
FYI: If the series ends in 2028, I think you might be using the IMF data from Oct 2023. They updated it in April, this year - and now their prediction extends to 2029.

No China artist in this? Why no China artist? China do better than west. Why always west, and no China?
Because artists from China only sell their music inside their country, while western singers are listened by the entire world (for ex. western singers sell albums in Tunisia, Russia, Australia, Colombia etc., while the world don't really listen to Chinese music).
Here you can find a list with the best selling music from China, the best selling album only sold 7 million copies... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_in_China
China has no artist. Self expression is illegal in China.

East Asians are born to work! Hard work is the norm in Confucian culture. For thousands of years, East Asia has been peaceful and prosperous, and Southeast Asia will also be peaceful and prosperous. India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are tribes in the eyes of East Asians and became countries because of the British. Those who still rely on religion for unity are destined to be swallowed up by religion.
