Rpm is triggered thru an internal resistor that’s in the 3 pin connector Yel/Grn wirefrom what I remember. And you could check for a signal at the DLC connector behind the battery Pin labeled (IG-) tacho signal Look for voltage with a meter at different t rpms

You mean the trigger wheel? That’s from diyautotune. They have a newer thinner design now but it does not do sequential anymore. But you can still run the COp setup in wasted spark mode

I ultimately gave up on squirting this g16 due to the trigger wheel rubbing inside the distributor as it spun. I swear my car was cursed

I tried 2 of his chips. 3 Megasquirt 3 laptops He ended up with both the chips and my money. Not to mention I paid return shipping.

@@tpellmhall4068 I had a hard time in the beginning tuning the v8, being that it had never been done. I tuned it from scratch from my driveway and on open road. And even though it wasnt my first time, It was the toughest to tune. I could never figure out the heatsoaking issue with these engines. Either way, after 1 1/2 years of fun, the fuel pump died during a hwy pull in 4th gear and all the boost melted and destroyed 2 pistons and ruined the valves. :/ It's sitting awaiting a motor swap from a v8 Lexus, dont want to rebuild the 918 a 2nd time.

welllllllll, not like a Porsche, but cheaper to fix then a Ferrari. All of the electronics and engine accessories came from a GM car. THe engine and transmission on the other hand are Lotus and Renault. It's a toy car for someone who makes a decent living and if you dont use the car often then be prepared for stuff to need fixing. Most people let these sit around a lot and only take them to car shows, those are the worst owners.

Gartner Banana is the seller, I sent them both back and he put me on ignore without a refund. I even paid my own return shipping. He claimed he was at a loss? THe parts cost him $1.50 each and does a quick reprogram. hell no, the seller sent me 2 and both had the same problem. Seller is from Belgium, the baggies he uses are very flimsy so by the time it arrived in Arizona, god knows what they went thru. I tried them on multiple megasquirts as I am a small time builder. I ended up sending them both back to him and after he recieved them, he put me on Ignore and no refund. He is still selling these on ebay.

I believe you are right, there are 2 connectors, or is it just 1 with a center bolt holding it all together? the wire colors in my diagram was a little off. Sometimes when the wire color was different, I would look at the sensor itself, clean the wires there and see what color it really is then go back to ECU connector and confirm the color change. IDk exactly what you just asked though. Btw you need to swap in a 50mm distributor trigger wheel from DIYautotune for the nissan disty. You need to add your own megasquirt friendly IAT Then you need the TPS, Varaible Cam solenoid, CAM and Ckp, CLT, coil, fan control, A/c if needed.

the car is long gone, no more twin charging, now i'm compounding with 2 turbos. Still have KL engine but now it's a built bottom end with low c/r pistons and all that stuffed into a 93 Mercury Tracer. No vids of this cause it's still being built after 6 years. But to answer your question better, Yes it ran good and I have some racing vids in my channel if you look around the same time frame as this one.
