@@mattsheehy1854 ignorance is a bliss. Do you even remotely realize what happens to lithium if it contacts with water? That box will leak underwater.

@@VladOnEarth Spreading miss information is bliss. Lipos only contain like 7% lithium so even if some how water gets into the sealed cell there isn't too much to react with. There is a large amount of humidity in the air which could cause the lithium to react So they must be air tight to not allow anything in therefore, they are waterproof. the worst that can happen to your batteries is that the terminals that the wires connect to could corrode. People even put many lithium batteries is salt water to fully discharge them for disposable. Also that's a dive box rated for 16ft underwater. My pool is 7.5 feet deep it's not going to leak.

@mattsheehy1854 whatever bud, I already engineered with lithium when you was 5 years old probably. Being in denial about lipo (not liion) satety isnt gonna help you. But at least thats a dive box, so it is better, looked like a food container to me.

@@VladOnEarth I don't really like Lipos anyway I don't really use them any more. If you want to critique my newest battery build check out this post. I'm not quite done with it yet but I'm always looking for information on how to make my large batteries safer.

With a lot of tweaking you can get it to work well but I never had the time so I ended up taking it off the printer. If you really want multi color you might want to get the prusa XL pretty expensive though.

@@mattsheehy1854 yeah thats going to happen soon... i just bought my prusa... still gotta wait 4-5 weeks for it to arrive... finally got fed up with my creality cr-10s pro v2... and when you think about it its not that expensive for something that just works... from what ive gathered prusa has made a name for themselves being a printer that just works... no upgrading or tinkering required....

@@angelusmortis3256 like you just bought an XL or a MK3S? I know prusa is pretty great! I have a CR-10 Max and I try my best to never use it becuase its just a pain haha.

@@mattsheehy1854 MK3S is on the way lol... whats sad is ive upgraded the heck out of that creality... micro swiss all metal hotend anti backlash dampners new bed springs and knobs... i was looking into a whole new bed for it it was like 130 for that and i was just like why am i upgrading this thing when i could buy a prusa thats done for me... so i did that lol

@@angelusmortis3256 nice the MK3s is solid! I mean you can still use your creality eith the upgrades. Its nice to have more then one printer. Or just sell it to pay for more of the prusa

You actually don't need to. Pretty much any motor can run underwater unprotected becuase the enamal on the motor windings. The only thing you really need to worry about is corrosion of the bearings and stuff

Use CorrosionX. It's a hydrophobic fluid that prevents corrosion.

What are you interested in? This project is pretty old and didn't work all that well.

Maytech has some very powerful pre built ones for efoils but i have heard mixed reviews

It's still doing great! In my settings it says I have 771 days of print time on it and pretty much no issues since then. In my opinion Prusa is the best 3d printer brand out there!

I made it in my dorm room with tape and scraps of wood what else do you expect? It's not like I'm trying to sell it?

I built a control box for my BlueRobotics T-200 thrusters I use on a 10" fishing kayak. I have two thrusters, one on each side of the kayak and using the BlueRobotics Thruster Commander I can operate in a "skid steering" mode. I wanted my control box to be watertight and used several other BlueRobotics components to achieve this. The control pots were the most problematic given they needed to turn. I ended up using a couple BlueRobotics switch assemblies that I modified. Thanks! I never really measured it but with the 6s battery maybe around 15 pounds of thrust... but it was definitely overworking the motor.

I think it's very useful if you are working with small aluminum parts but it does take a bit of a learning curve. I'm going to try to convert it to CNC soon so I can get more use out of it

@@mattsheehy1854 ok thanks. Yeah great idea! like cutting curves would only be available in CNC mode... Wonder if using only the SX2.7 to build brackets for the motors and CNC add-ons would be possible?
