@@Overland-460 that was the initial thought to sell both the plate and winch but buddy in the white GX wanted it so it’s now in his possession. This bumper is on the market and sold by Lil B’s fabrication, pretty well known fabricator to most Toyota brands.

It’s definitely mind boggling to cut something up so nice but once you take enough trail damage, getting the nerves to actually doing it isn’t too bad. Confidence in yourself and having steady hands is all it takes. Worse case is, you pay someone to do it for you.

@@Kris_leyden I used a 2005-2015 washer bottle I found on Amazon, was $55. Drilled new mounting holes for the sensors a d made my own brackets. Really easy and super cost effective compared to the rest.

@@NFAT_Life right angle die grinder. Easier to hold and control vs angle grinder. But if you have access to a table saw to control where to cut, that’s much more precise. I basically cut off close to an inch of a pie section of the lamp and glued the end back on to mate the two to create that OEM look without sacrificing much. Very clean in my opinion vs a blank hole or a plate in its place.

@@HungNguyen-jq2lx they’ve been on since I’ve lifted it. 4 years and 30k later still fine with no issues. I’ve driven as fast as 90mph and nothing shakes or is abnormal.

@@exiong81Really appreciate your reply! Im running 33s on 0 offset RRW wheels rn and just ordered the spacers for a better stance. Im not going 50mph on a desert or anything but I wheel the rig to go camp on weekends alot, was paranoid abt the spacers failure lol. Really appreciate your response.

@@HungNguyen-jq2lx no problem! Adding spacers will definitely give you that aggressive stance but bear in mind that you’ll be going from 0 to -31.75mm if you decide to you Spidertrax 1.25” spacers. With that in mind, you’ll have to do a body mount chop, hammer pinch welds, and more plastic trimming cause you’ve increased the wheel scrub radius with spacers. I hear you on those horror stories but truthfully, those stories applies true but the real facts is that poor quality spacers exists and that human error also exists as well. Buy quality spacers and maintain them and they’ll last. I’ve wheeled with mine and drove pretty fast through wash board roads with my GX. I also know plenty of guys who wheels HARD with spacers and have clocked well over 50k with spacers and been fine. Good luck though!

@@bb5op585 interesting but also not surprising. I personally feel most aftermarket companies will fall short on their QC with some defects making it out to the public. That being said, sorry to hear your experience. So far mine has been pleasant and hoping they hold out for years to come but will most definitely keep an eye out for issues you’ve mentioned. I still have my OEM sitting in the box as a backup in case something happens to these but thank you for sharing, really appreciate it.

Only issue I have is that these lights are $700 a set on Alibaba from the same factory that alpha Rex is buying them from. It would depend on how good their CS whether the 2.5x price is worth it. Because good luck dealing with a Chinese factory.

@@golfnerd3107 I can’t say I’ve done the comparison or if anyone has spent the time to try both to compare but the only thing to note is that I have the warranty with them. How they’ll honor it should something go defective only time will tell cause I have heard both positive and negative feedback on the service. The quality from my inspection seems good and the install was a breeze but hopefully they’ll last me for years and if not, the stock ones are there for back up. I wouldn’t doubt that both AlphaRex and Attica get their supplies from the same place but AlphaRex has many applications so if they’re QC was horrible, it would go across the board and would be known just like BXbuilt, they went down crashing though they’re a custom retrofit for headlights and whatnot but more than likely source the parts from the same area.

If you had problems, why did you warranty it out, and plus alpharex is one of the good aftermarket headlight companies out compared to spyder and etc

@@srandyt2 sorry, I didn’t make a video for the winch plate and winch install. It was pretty straightforward after removing the bumper.

@@BullseyeHTX an aftermarket grille you can find on eBay. Look under “TRD style grille GX460” and you’ll find it.

It’s an aftermarket TRD knockoff grille for the Prado J150 but fits the US Lexus GX460. The quality is decent and the fitment is good.

@@chopperpl not necessarily a click bait if you will. Setting up the expectations that a luxury vehicle can’t off-road and isn’t reliable on a 1300 mile trip. I didn’t post it but I did have an issue on the way back where I had an accident with the electronics and had to limp home for 3 hours under 55mph max with the check engine light on. Corrected the issue once I was home so that could’ve been one of those “disasters” but was not documented.

@@exiong81 now that explains the title... glad you made it home... BTW, GXes are already well known luxury offroad beasts. Just finished my 5k miles trip fully loaded family of four with rooftop tent + 270 awning... without a glitch.

@@chopperpl yes, wish I would’ve documented that as part of the video but it wasn’t planned so didn’t cross my mind to record it. Though it was documented in my Instagram but more so pictures and not video. The GX to those who have no idea about are truly reliable and capable and it’s sad that there are people out there who still believes that. Thats awesome to hear about your successful 5K trip w/ the family! I want to do something similar to that but the wife is one of those who prefers to “glamp” vs camp.

@@up2top thanks! I’m content with it. The cooler light temperature output “appears” brighter but nothing beats OEM. The newer look and sequential turn signals are the highlights for these in my opinion. Light output leaves some room for desire if you know what to look for but I think anyone who isn’t technical will enjoy these, especially if you have a 2014-2019 model.

I can’t 100% confirm but I heard from reading in the GXOR group on FB that they weren’t compatible, something about the wiring or the ecm not being compatible but to be honest, I haven’t heard anyone who has successfully installed a set of 2020+ OEM in earlier 2019 and older models. Which video was that of who installed OEM 2020 headlights or where you seen it from?

No videos, it was a thought experiment and something I went for without documenting. Not hard though, just needs measuring, chopping the front cover and front crash bar then drilling new hole to relocate the parking sensor.

Top of the grille has a slight gap but fitment is good overall.
