Me again. I refuse to give up. I think I have finally figured out what is wrong with mine. The bottom wire that goes under the heater that has the little thermal thingy on it is bad. I have a small fog machine that works and it is basically the same thing minus the ice holder. Anyway I check the continuity of the wire on the small one and I get a reading but the one on the Mister Kool I get nothing on the reading. What is the thing on the wire called and where can I get a replacement?

It's not a transistor, it's a Schottky diode. I had exactly the same issue. This seems to be a very common with this amp/speaker.
