    I want so bad to be a UPS employee, I got the pleasure of being a pvd for 2020 2021, but I can't seem to get on as an employee, I would live to start as package handler in Shreveport louisiana on Jim casey rd

      UPS will keep you hanging as long as they can so they don't need to pay full scale! I'm retired from them due to a on the job injury that ended up being in the surgery room. Now they want to fight and follow me around to get out of paying me a settlement. They are the BIGGEST assholes to work for that I have ever been employed by!!!

    Most seasonal workers will not become regular employees. UPS has horrible communication with its seasonal hires. Most will quit or get let go.

    Starting my 3rd day, no issues. If you are not quick to catch on you will struggle, took me a day to figure out the handheld after that it was fine. yes it's crazy but just go with it, I had 31 stops with maybe 50 packages but got everything delivered in about 3 hours after driving to meet another driver and loading my own car. I have a CDL class A with hazmat/tanker/doubles-triples/motorcycle. I'm 52 in great health, easiest money.

    I got fired after 6 days for not knowing the DIAD. They were total assholes from the minute I walked in. The worst part is I quit my job at Amazon delivery to job UPS because the pay was 21 dollars an hour and a they told me there is a 35% chance to become a regular driver. Well it was all bullshit. The supervisors expect you to know the DIAD fast from the beginning like on the first day. Then if you struggle to find boxes in the back of the delivery car they will most likely move on from you and find the next person. No matter how hard I ran. Never gave me an ID card or any extra clothes I was running in pants in 90 degree weather. They don't like people off the street of course the HR person won't mention any of this to you because all the car about is getting people into the system to boost their numbers. What happens to you after that is not their concern. It's just good luck to ya.

    seasonal helper will not help you become a full time driver doesn't work that way anymore. I've worked there for 19 years

  • @JamesSaintRave
    @JamesSaintRave 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    No need to apply for UPS seasonal driver if you are 50 or older--maybe 40+ would be stretching it. My interviewer practically attacked me--why? I guess for just showing up well-dressed and well-groomed...but 54...that was MY mistake...sorry for being TOO OLD UPS. It will not happen again. But please establish an age limit for seasonal drivers--18 to 39? Stop wasting older peoples time--we just want to work.

      Show up fit or go home. I am 52, my 4th season. I am pretty sure I would not be on a business route tomorrow if I were not fit for the job.

      You dont want to be there. You get paid great but you have to be a gofer and break all the rules just go make numbers. Once you hurt yourself they don't know you. If you make production and break the safety rules they pretend they dont know about it. Trust me the great money is not worth the hassle unless you like to kiss ass

    • @Halfbakedd69
      @Halfbakedd69 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      this comment ^ TRUTH, UPS has a very dark side.. get a trade or go into the medical field, radiology, EKG, etc. do not waste your time (and body) slaving at UPS, if you can try to get a better job, if you cannot get a better one than apply at UPS all u want

    • @Halfbakedd69
      @Halfbakedd69 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      id rather have a trade, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, UPS is something where you can lose your job because they dont need a SKILLED worker, that means they can replace you with literally ANYBODY..even someone who can barely just read ENGLISH and migrated to the United states 2 months ago...also if you get hurt, hit by a car, etc. you will lose your job and it will not be guaranteed to get back
