Hi friends! I welcome you to my channel. Once I got into the garage of my late grandfather, in which there had been no one for a long time, and I saw a lot of good, but rusty and tired old instrument. I want to restore this tool and make it beautiful. Thank you for being here. There will be a lot of videos on a regular basis.
restoration of an old soviet machete
Hi friends! I found this old rusty knife on a dusty shelf in my grandfather's old garage. It looks a bit like a machete and can serve its purpose. But he lay in dampness for a very long time and it looks like he was on fire. I had a lot of work ahead of me. First, I removed the burned-out handle from the blade. Removed rust from the blade. I polished a lot and cut off the damaged section of the blade and sharpened it again. Finally I made a wooden handle and varnished it. Now the little machete will live. I really liked this knife. It is very lightweight and durable. And for dessert, trials in difficult conditions!

Antique rusty cleaver restoration
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi friends! Hope you enjoy my video. In this video I have restored a great cleaver with an unusual shape. Returning to the time when he was working, I remember how my grandfather chopped cabbage with them in a special wooden box. It was sad to see this cleaver in such poor condition. But for this old rusty cleaver, I had a plan for a long time. I detached the wooden handle. I placed the metal p...
Vintage rusty Knife restoration
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This vintage knife served my ancestors. They used it to peel vegetables. I am restoring it so that it will serve as it did many years ago. To restore it, I took it apart. I polished the blade to a shine. I also processed the ring. I removed a layer of old varnish with a knife. Grinding it, then burning it. Grinding again. Collected it again. Gently varnished. I cut a sponge and an appetizing to...
Restoration of very old rusty files
มุมมอง 22K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Good day! This video is about restoring very old rusty files and rasps. This kit was abandoned for years in my grandfather's old garage. I decided that this video should also be here. Now they are doing their job perfectly. You can see this in my previous and next videos. restoration of a very old butcher's knife
มุมมอง 30K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I am doing a restoration of a very old butcher's knife. He came to me in a very bad condition. First, I removed the grip covers. Then he removed the wrinkles from the hammer blows with a credit circle. He removed the oxide layer. For a long time he leveled and polished the surface. The handle was made of pine needles and then varnished. Check out my other videos on TH-cam th-cam.c...
Old Rusty Masonry Hammer Restoration
มุมมอง 18K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hello friends, this is my first restoration of an old rusty stone hammer. I found this hammer in my grandfather's old garage and decided to return it to working condition. First, I cleaned it of loose rust and dirt with a brush. Then, using a large flat file, I corrected the geometry and then sanded all surfaces to a metallic sheen. Sandpaper helped smooth the surfaces. I modified the finished ...
The vise also needs a good cleaning.
Dear sir, I own a couple of files which have the name " FIRM " and a logo of a light house or something like that and a date 1857. Can you please let me know the manufacturer of these files. Thank you.
Nice job only thi g different in the hole of the handles put some epoxy in before the file helps from the files turning in time inside the handle nice job tho all the best
Hey genius, I looked for milky looking water at the store and all I found was your mom blowing the clerk for a twelve pack of beer. How about you do it correctly (like your mom) and tell us the product or solution mix? Thanks for wasting 5 mins of my life😮
Could you mention a few of these steps like what you’re using? What’s the liquid I don’t get it
Not another Asmr video… really? Do You really think we need more of this on TH-cam? You’re doing tool repair. People that do tool repair and/or use tools aren’t into this weird sh t.
Sorry, maybe I missed where you inform us as to what you're using during the restoration??
I think that is Rustoleum Rust Remover.
3:50 wow, if the liquid can do that to iron files just imagine what it can do to the skin of your hands!
Any acid will damage the skin, especially a strong acid such as HCL.
1:00 rusty files and World's rustiest vice!
LOL
What solution did you soak them in?
Rustoleum Rust Remover
So how does cleaning off the rust make these usable files? Rust would remove the sharper edges that were thinner steel.
Yes I agree. Some think using acid will somehow sharpen the teeth but I can't see this.
Vinegar will sharpen the file, but very little. HCL is the best for sharpening the files, because it etches the metal and makes the teeth sharp again.
But you don’t show hat you poured over them?
Rustoleum Rust Remover
Well that’s 11 minutes and 54 seconds of my life that I’ll never get back… but that’s okay because I thought your video was great, and I enjoyed watching you restore the files. they look wonderful. 👍🏻
You didn’t tell what you used to restore them.
Great job Alex!
Hey bro nice restoration, I'm sure they will work perfectly again! I have a question, what is that liquid called that you use on those handles? I'm restoring some files too and I really like that vintage colour that it has!
Hello! Yes, they work great. It's a stain liquid.
@@alexrestoration7013 can you tell me what brand it is? I won't tell anyone😉
I hate instructional videos that give no instructions. Are you going to die if you speak ? Jesus, 15 minutes of silence.
Good video, looks like ur vice and ball peen hammer could use some help 2.
Files aren’t restored this way. Rust has affected its teeth and in order to restore it you need to anneal it first and sharpen the teeth and then harden it
Thanks for the feedback! Restored based on technical capabilities. By the way, the files work great.
Could you point us in the direction of resources that show us how to go about this? Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with this and don't have anyone in my world to show me. I would really appreciate your guidance. Thank you.
Well done.

Need to restore the vice
Ok! Thanks
good job buddy!! continue.
Thanks! Let's continue
Looks good, why the spruce wood for a handle? It's a quite soft wood for a handle.
Unfortunately there was no other at hand! I think it's durable enough for occasional use. Thank you for your feedback.
not only rusty but that dent in the middle was in need of repair - great job my friend!
Thanks my friend
@@alexrestoration7013 my pleasure Alex!
Good job sir! It is especially nice to use a tool that belonged to a relative. Kind of sad those that come after our generation cannot expect to use much from our time - at least they can use their grandparents tools if they have them. 😜
You are absolutely right
Its actually used to cut leather. Move it from 1 edge to the other to use it properly
Nice job.
Thanks

Very successful job👍
Thank!!!
Your video sucks. Your moves is like slow motion. Don't know why. All in all learn how to make YT video.
I will definitely learn! I really want to see your perfect videos. Maybe I'll see them and understand what kind of crap I'm doing! If they are not there, then you have nothing to teach me
Great work !
thanks
I have a collection of these things... i think i have around 24... I lost a little while back
It's a pity that you lost them.
