Sierra Nevada is a mountainous massif of Spain, It is located between the provinces of Granada and Almería. In 1986 it was declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco, in 1989 a vast area of this mountainous massif was declared a natural park and in 1999 a large part of it became considered a national park for its botanical, scenic and natural values.
Sierra Nevada is the southernmost ski resort in Europe and the highest in Spain. Due to these characteristics, it is usually ideal for skiing, due to the good weather and the excellent quality of its snow. It is 27 km from the city of Granada on the A-395 highway, and is located less than 100 km from Motril, on the Granada coast, thus being able to enjoy the mountains and the sea on the same day, since the route in car can be done in just over an hour.
Next to the ski resort there is an urbanization, Pradollano, which with its 2100 m s. no. m. At the lowest level, it is the highest urban center in Andalusia and only comparable to the ski resorts of the Pyrenees.
But also, on the provincial border of Granada and Almería, in the port of La Ragua, there is another recreational station that has tracks enabled for cross-country skiing.

Dista 27 km de la ciudad de Granada por la carretera A-395, y se encuentra a menos de 100 km de Motril, en la Costa Granadina, pudiéndose disfrutar así de la montaña y el mar en el mismo día, dado que el recorrido en automóvil puede realizarse en poco más de una hora.
Junto a la estación de esquí hay una urbanización, Pradollano, que con sus 2100 m s. n. m. de cota más baja, es el núcleo urbano más alto de Andalucía y solo comparable a las estaciones de esquí de los Pirineos.
Pero además, en el límite provincial de Granada y Almería, en el puerto de La Ragua, se encuentra otra estación recreativa que tiene pistas habilitadas para la práctica del esquí de fondo.

I miss it so much when we are back in the UK.Brexit has had an impact on our length of stay but am so grateful to the Spanish for their hospitality and their zest for life.I don't like the big hotels much because they have stolen away some of the Spanishness of the area but there is a charm still to be found.

Es una vergüenza como estan los barrios de gran parte de Málaga hundios en la mierda..tiene a limasa limpiando en el centro..y a el resto de los malagueños que pagamos impuestos que nos den..las playas no son de arena,son tierra de relleno..
De noche está Málaga ¡¡muerta ...!!. La calle Strachan tiene muchos chiringuitos y restaurantes pero visto así no da buena perspectiva
