I can't bend that bottle cage it too hard..
How are you living with this post-Stages supposedly going bust? I heard Giant are buying them out? Do you think that's the end of these bikes or will they get re-labelled and shipped out again sometime soon as a V2 or sorts?
@@JimSmith-lf7bb I bought a Wahoo Kickr Bike V2 a few weeks ago. My Stages held up fine and is still in perfect condition and I’m selling it off. If they had made a V2 I would have considered it, but I felt like everyone else was improving and Stages wasn’t so I jumped ship.
Yeah man, I only ride on 70 psi and I’m a good pumper.
got one of these but i find the squirting pressure a little to crazy for me, and i don't know how to clean the lid very well... i need a lid that is easy to clean away the sport drink mixes (i use hammer perpetuem a lot when i ride) and i haven't tried using this one yet with the prepetuem because i'm afraid it will gunk up in there and sour
There have been several lid designs since I reviewed this six years ago and they don't all operate the same way or clean the same way. But in general, I keep mine clean by running them under hot water under the tap, and then also running hot soapy water into a bottle and squirting it through the lid to clean out the parts I can't easily clean and I haven't run into any gross taste problems so it probably is fairly clean.
@@roadbikeriderdotcom good advice, thanks!
For 6yrs only 6 comments,Is tis Really Works but in market for 20yrs
6 years later, is this still your favorite bottle?
Yes, but they have a different cap design as back then. I have not tried the brand new version yet but I did buy the bottles and they are still the same and still my favorite.
So I can walk for longer I get sore kinda quick n cramp in my left hamstring I try n walk for 2 hours every morning
That's a bs design
Can you comment on maintenance of the Stages bike? Thanks
I'm still riding this bike, years later. I have done exactly zero maintenance. I ride it approximately twice a week and have done more than 150 races on Zwift with it. Zwift says I've ridden it about 8,200 miles so far, 16 days, 20 hours of riding and 229,000 calories.
I’m looking to get a bike. SB20 is on my list too. I also have on the list M3i - because it’s the best spin bike, C2 Ergbike - not sure why, but I like it. I think it’s great for doing intervals. Any thoughts?
Downvote cause my search was for “how to install tire with Pedro’s” and it brought back this junk.
Do what you gotta do. I can't help it if you suck at searching.
Wow, so many negative comments.. thanks for sharing! I also love these levers, better than the part tools branded ones or anything else I’ve tried!
Great review! I just bought one, but mine is different. Mine has no flat screwdriver or tyre lever. Watching from Australia!
Does anyone know another Spinning bike that has this feature of being able to stop pedaling and the wheel keeps spinning?
That’s what makes it a SPIN bike!
You are the best in a very simple video answer all my questions. Thank you
Thanks for the review. I’m looking forward to my Stages SB20 arriving and replacing my Tacx Neo 2 smart trainer. I love how quiet this bike is. I do agree regarding the unit not making a noise when you change gears. Same goes for the gimmicky Wahoo that angles up and down as you climb / descend 😂. I personally, think that’s so naff.
i hope you see my comment: the brake is useful when you use zwift ERG MODE exemple you make a trainning program with ERG MODE with interval 100watt and 700w so when it will switch to 100watt u will do like 140spin in empty space so to prevent injury you use the brake (thank you to have see my comment)
Thank you for this! I just got on my bike for the first time yesterday. I'm brand new to an e-bike. I'm trying to figure out which gear, etc., to use so I can do most of the work, but also use the assist to get up all the hills where I live. With a bad lower back, the hills are a challenge, but I want the exercise.
Man i dont know how to drinks this
Like for real i need help
What is this "swift" you keep mentioning? All I've heard of is zwift lol
real work for prevent cramp?
Would you recommend or not recommend this bike for someone that has never ridden outside but just want to use as a stationary bike??Older aged people??Can you use with sneakers??Dont want a Peloton bike or use their services .Thanks
Hi, good review thanks. Can you please tell me the carpet dimension needed 😊
The reason you like it is they give you it free for making videos about it. The side of the bottle says it's just a couple minerals. Zero integrity here.
Some minerals help prevent cramping, which is the entire purpose of the pills. 🤦♂️ Also: I'm sure companies are super interested in people with 400 subscribers and gets a few views/comments. Gotta send them free samples for their huge fanbase, amirite?
No one gave me shit. I buy it at full price, moron. Your mom has zero integrity.

Good Review, thanks! Just purchased one and had my 1st ride today.
Dear RBR, I love this bottles too. Nevertheless I've got a problem: How can you open the top of the bottle? I tried many things like Corega Tabs... But the mold does not disappear. Could you possibly help me? Thanks from Germany! Alex
I don't think the top is designed to be disassembled, so you'd be better off buying a replacement lid. One thing I do with all my bottles is to always store the bottle upside down so that any water drains out, and also with the lid removed and stored upright so that no water or sports drink pools in it and it dries quickly. I have heard that some people store their bottle lids and empty bottles in the freezer and claim that helps prevent bacteria and mold, but I don't know if this is true.
I am considering buying this bike for me and my wife. I am a real cyclist (road bike and mountain bike). My wife is more of a spinning person. Is this bike also suitable for that?
Yes, but…. You know how some spin bikes don’t coast and you have to always pedal? This bike coasts like a real bicycle. But other than that you could do all the spin bike stuff on it and Stages actually makes spin bikes for commercial facilities so they know all about them.
I bought one of these last week. Love it so far. Thanks for this review, which I watched before deciding.
Thanks for the comment. Glad it was helpful!
Any idea how long it takes to achieve a full charge from a fully discharged battery? Also, what did you find to be the main difference between the Comfort and the City (besides the different seats)? Extended service warranty is available ... with your knowledge of bikes and maintenance, would you recommend adding additional warranty?
I'd estimate maybe three to five hours to fully charge. I only rode the Comfort, but the City is a 700c larger diameter "road bike" style wheel and the Comfort is a 27.5 "mountain bike" style wheel. City has no front shock. So City is probably designed to be "zippier" than the Comfort, but I like having more rubber on the road and the upright position and prefer that kind of design in an ebike where the motor is doing a lot of the work.
Great review...I took one for a test ride at a bike shop and liked that it didn't give a sudden surge in speed when increasing peddle assist, unlike the aventon pace 500 I tested, which surged dangerously fast
Is it possible to have the Avadar ebike custom made without the suspension forks?
Bike still going strong??
Yes, I am still using it at least twice a week and Zwift racing on it.
How difficult would it be to pedal the Avadar ebike with the middrive motor in the unfortunate event that you run out of power?
It pedals fine. It’s just like riding a heavier bike than usual is all. You can ride it with the assist turned off completely if you wish, at any point.
between kbo and avadar, which one do you prefer?
It depends. If you are looking for a bike that rides more like a regular bike, then the Avadar is better with the balance from the mid drive motor and two chainrings. If you want more flat out power, the KBO has 500 watts vs 350 for Avadar, and the KBO has a throttle. So the KBO is more of a pure ebike type of experience.
Are you able to adjust the handle bar height?
A bike shop could probably add a riser if you wanted to raise the handlebars, but it does not come that way. The geometry gives you a pretty high handlebar height to begin with.
Just a friendly tip, audio quality is incredibly important on TH-cam.
spoiler: answer is no
Thanks, was looking for that answer.
Hi, My boyfriend and I are looking to buy a smart bike trainer. And I was wondering if the Stages SB20 is also good for spinning classes. Thanks.
This is the smart bike I want to get. I’m stuck between this and the wahoo.
You can’t go too wrong with either one in my opinion. I think wahoo makes good stuff too. I’m still happy with the stages.
@@roadbikeriderdotcom I have the Kickr V5. It’s great. Had some teething issues with at first although it was user error. Not having any experience with trainers. Makes me wonder how many people send them back because a trainer is not what they expected or they feel something is wrong with it. People think it’s going to feel exactly like riding outdoors.
Does it work on chain of 12s shimano deore?
Responderam ?
Also wondering if it is a gentle smooth take off or is more jarring from a stop. Also wondering whether I could replace the rear rack to carry heavier weight. Would like to add rear seat capability for my child to ride.
do you have them in black?
Great review. I ordered my stage sb20 a week ago. Can’t wait to receive it. Your review confirms I made the right decision.
Good review. Thank you. Wondering, is the battery removeable?
Yes, it is

Great informative video. Thanks!
It’s Zwift
Could you possibly help me out. If the saddle is fully forward and the handlebars are fully back , what is the shortest distance between them? I’m not the tallest of cyclists and don’t want to order a Stages bike if I have to over stretch, thanks 🙏
