OSTV 11-04-24 Overturned Semi On 10 Fwy
LACoFD and Baldwin Park CHP received a call of an overturned semi truck on the eastbound 605 to the eastbound 10 interchange. Reports came out of a person trapped when Fire arrived at scene And reported a semi on its side with no patient trapped. One vehicle did crash into the semi But was not injured CHP has a sigalert for approximately two hours on the northbound 605 onto the eastbound 10 interchange.
The Semi is loaded with Onions and unknown amount of onions that are inside the semi truck.

CHP East LA got called to a traffic collision on the 60 EB at Garfield Ave. When units arrived at scene they reported a two vehicle collision with a pedestrian laying on the fwy not breathing with CPR is in progress. Montebello Fire arrived at scene and pronounced the victim deceased. CHP has the 1,2,3 lane closed for and unknown duration of time. Original call came out as VEH HIT PED.

I am from a firefighter family, so I feel bad for the firefighter. The problem is LAFD style work. They prioritize roof cuts even when the roof has already self vented as it did here. LAFD has had roofs collapse and firefighters fall in before and they and their associated departments have not learned from this.

I am sorry the officer was injured, but it also shows a two-tiered medical rescue system that is only for the benefit of public employees. I cant think of one time that the CHP has closed both ways on a major freeway for a regular citizen involved in a traffic collision for a helicopter to land that was publicly owned. NEVER .... Why dont regular injured people get such special emergency service from publicly owned helicopters? I am sure some of their injuries are worse than this officer.
That’s actually not true they do it all the time you just don’t hear about it all the time. It happens in Palmdale Lancaster, Santa Clarita area, where hospitals are a little bit further than down here in the cities.

what they consider a d.o.t. bumper is made out of fairly light weight material, its main purpose is to provide a step for climbing into the trailer. It's best to keep yourself out from under the trailer.
