"This song was written by Goebel Reeves (1899-1959), a genuine hobo, known as the "Texas Drifter." He performed hobo and cowboy songs, accompanying himself on the guitar, with a yodel and a trill that were to become the hallmark of his style. When Reeves's father was elected to the state legislature, the family moved to Austin. There Reeves became a legislative page and first encountered hoboes...

I'm on my porch in my small house in the mountains. It's a warm summer evening, the crickets are singing and I can see the whole valley and the pink sky. I'm smoking exquisite local weed and my puppy sleeps against me. There's even a multicolor tinsel on the roof, and my crochet patchwork hanging to dry in the breeze. I wouldn't trade this life for anything, thank you for your music

When I was younger, my grandfather would play bedtime songs on his guitar for my brother and I. That was a long time ago, we don't stay over anymore, but late at night, this gives me the same comfort. Thank you.

I'm a 17 year old from the bustling and competitive Silicon Valley / San Francisco Bay Area, and my paradise is in the mountains (thanks to my dad, who introduced me to the great outdoors at a super young age).
