Day 2 of prototyping some wooden tools, I think I’m liking this one!
Wood + tools = wooden tools?🤔
มุมมอง 532ปีที่แล้ว
After the weekend I had at makers central I had the idea to add a bit of myself to the mix next year, I was inspired by Ben crowe at crimson guitars who runs the vintage tool shop and have decided that next year, I want to make handmade wooden tools and sell them on a stand. This is going to be a really exciting year of making. I am only in the prototyping stage currently but I hope you enjoy t...

Thanks 👍 I’ll be doing some fine joinery projects in the near future 😄 and some garden furniture eventually is on the list. I was on channel 4’s Britains best woodworker in 2022😄
Nice one Jacob
Looks like a fantastic space to work in Looking forward to some great videos Thanks for sharing your time 🍺🍺👍👍
Workshop is really coming together. I'd love to know what you did to tune the dust collection on your Axminster table saw as I've got the same one, and its pretty bad.
I made sure my cabinet was clean inside, I made sure that my correlated hose was clear and then I was ready to work out where the dust was coming from, and I worked out that I get best collection when the blade gaurd is angles down so the front of it is in contact with the wood. Then I don’t get dust thrown at me during a cut. I also found that the riving knife can be lowered so it’s not higher than the blade if you grind the slit in it deeper so it can sit lower and still be fastened with 2 bolts. Alternatively you could just remove the top bolt so it sits lower but that’s a bit sketchy. Litterally just sitting the guard in the right place made the world of difference. I also found that no matter what saw your using, an edge cut where the blade is only cutting on one side will always make a mess.
That music is bloody awful,
Looking cool buddy, will deafo pinch a few ideas for my workshop. Where is the wood store?
I’m storing in a separate shed. Which will be my cnc room one day when I get one 😂
Its all looking good
Hi Jacob, Your workshop is looking good, can't wait to see what you make, Great video , catch you soon , take care
Keep going mate! Enjoyed watching you on C4, enjoying watching you here!
Great job Jacob, Your t-shirt looks fancy.
Well done Jacob, so proud of you 😊
Looking good. Well done
👏🏼
It's starting to look good 🍺🍺👍👍
Thank you, still a long way to go😄
Wow what a change, really looking forward to watching how you finish this project. For me its brilliant to watch a new channel begin, and its great to watch and support a uk channel cant wait to see more 😄
Thanks so much! That means so much! Thank you for the support!
Making great progress, looking forward to the next installment
You and me both! Haha
Very much into the music choice 👌 great video with great content 😊
Thank you!!!!!
Looking good, buddy. Hopefully, i can visit the next time i am down your way. I might pinch a few of your ideas for my workshop 😂😂
Love to see a new workshop take shape. It's going to look already! Subscribed to follow your journey :)
Hey there! Really enjoying this build series. I was wondering if you will be insulating the ceiling? Seems like it would benefit you to have it insulated since you insulated the walls.
Hi there, thank you so much! I am planning on it, I have the insulation to do it, I just don’t have the plasterboard for it, I think I’ll do that on my next video 😄
@@Wintertons great! I’m currently renovating my garage (slowly) with adding insulation and drywall, so I was just curious, as I kind of work alongside your videos as well.
Your doing an amazing job refurbing your workshop , keep it up, it's going to look great. Hoped you enjoyed Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds a good actor, he is also one of the owners of my local football team. Catch you next time Jacob, Great video Take care. Shaun from Wrexham
Hi Shaun, thank you so much! It’s been a lot of work to get to this stage but I can actually use the space now, painting will really make the space look clean and fresh. And I watched welcome to Wrexham. It was really good. Does he visit there a lot?
@@Wintertons Hi Jacob, Ryan and Rob do visit Wrexham quite often if they are not filming, I have met them, my son has met them a few times. The thing is i'm not a football fan, Rugby union is my sport. Catch you soon mate
Looking really good Jacob
It's really beginning to take shape and looking fantastic. Well done. K.
Thank you! It’s feeling like a really cosy workshop now, from the rotten shed to this felt like an impossible task but I got there in the end 😂 still some decorating , boarding the ceiling and floor leveller. but that isn’t anywhere near as tricky as the first few jobs😅
Looks really good, I can't wait to come and visit
I can’t wait either! We are doing to cut so much wood😂 that’s all I do
Yep, pretty good, thanks, great video, stay lucky and keep 'em coming
Coolio, thank for posting, see you on the next one, stay lucky
Looking good 😊
nice fix
Nice video 🍺🍺👍👍
That's a nice space to start out. Looking forward to part two.
I’ve already posted a part 2, it’s just a short video. I’ll be making a bit more of a lengthy renovation episode where I actually work on the walls. And that should be out in the next couple of weeks
I noticed. 😂
I am still making changes to my workshop and I am 61 😂
Your doing a great job, it will be worth it in the end, have fun
Are you still Winterton way? I’m next to Beccles 😊
I’m now in scratby, it’s funny you say that as I have a skip outside from a company in Beccles and the guy is taking it away as I write this😄
@@Wintertons LOL small world!
the background music kicking in scared the woodlice out of me. looking good babe
😂
Well done buddy, great stuff, be lucky
looking good
I know its early days, but think about getting a microphone.
Could be a workable space for sure. However the audio is terrible. Cell phone mic is insufficient, but a good wireless mic. Rode makes an excellent one just make sure the mic comes with a windsock.
Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
That has the making of a great little workshop, I love the old bench you uncovered and really liked the tool racks on the window, I presume they were rotten or woodwormed and that's why you removed them ? Old workshops often have tool racks full of chisels, screwdrivers and files at the window and it is a classic vintage look, so I hope you re-make some !
All the best with it hope you post more videos on it as you progress with it !!!. 😀😀👍👍.
I'm looking forward to seeing how your new workshop develops. Loved this 'tidy-up' introduction to the project.
Thank you! I will be filming more of this over the next couple of days so there should be a part 2 next week😃
Excited to see both what you turn the place into and what you'll make in there 💪
I’m really excited too! Its a bit of a shame I had to downsize but these things happen! I’ll be posting part 2 as soon as it’s ready :)
Why’d you have you to downsize?
@@kaitlynrowena5463the space down the road I used to rent was no longer available to me anymore so I decided to set up at home.
Oh no that sucks I’m sorry, theyrr loss but at least you get to work from home in your pjs if you. Want haha I love the garden btw it beautiful. You own that nice little.. is it a bungalow? or is it a cabin cos I cant tell lol
@@kaitlynrowena5463 its a bungalow, it was pebbledash but I replaced that with fibre cement cladding, it was the biggest job I have ever tackled haha
Reminds me of the first garage I started in! Sometimes the junk is a treasure hunt 😂
It was extremely fun having a search through it all. Most of it was junk but after finding lots of clues. I worked out that the person who once lived here was a model maker.
Your friends with hack smith?! Love their channel hope they subbed to you lol
Just leave all that junk by the curb. Keith brown will come and get it 😂
@martinmurraywooddesign haha very funny!!!! @RagnBoneBrown I’m so sorry but it’s in a skip. I’m sure you would have found some worthwhile finds in amongst this haul.
Hey, probably missed it - which saw blade do you use? The Axminster Premium ones? Thanks!
A question, don't you see the eye on the left side? I see that you keep that hair float in front, be a man and give you in front of your eyes, you are like those who think they are lost on the streets, you only look at one eye at the camera
That looks amazing! :O
Bloody hell Jacob, that is nice! Well done
