We are at a critical time in South Africa We need new governance and honest polotics

Hey Nicholas. I am nearing 5 years sober from alcohol, and Barry played a fundamental role in my sobriety. Since I stopped drinking, I stopped smoking, stopped abusing Mybulen and most Western medicine, reduced sugar and flour product intake by 90%, my cellphone use is down to 1hr a day, Soft Drinks no more. Game time is basically null, and recently stopped drinking coffee. I now get up in the mornings, do an hour and a half kettlebells / calisthenics, take a 30 min hill climb twice a week and I lost nearly 50kgs in the past couple of years since. I changed my Food Oils from "bird seed oils" to only Olive oils and started cooking 90% of my meals. I replaced "spread" with actual butter and started drinking only water and milk. I struggled with booze, and it was only because of the Weed and CBD Oil that I could manage my cravings to get some distance between myself and alcohol. Some days were worse than others and I used more. It suppressed my cravings and helped me calm down. CBD and THC does not have the cravings that alcohol, smokes or even caffeine has. I also managed to get my underlying issues sorted through therapy and Stoicism which brought me back to find the God in me. My creative life returned and I found my essence. I have reduced anger issues and started enjoying life for what it is worth. I daily meditate. I keep a diary. I visit nature often too. The nice thing about weed is that you can actually leave it alone when you need, and it does not give you those "Lack of oxygen" cravings like booze and tobacco. I found purpose and love on this world, and I didn't think it was possible at one stage. If Barry did not help me in those years, I most probably would be dead or in jail and divorced. You saved my life with weed Barry. I know many people that would second that and I know some would hate us for that. I don't care. Where where they when I woke covered in my own blood? I know you have guilt issues in your own life and doubts about your usage but you of all know what the benefits are and when YOU have to slow down and use less. We all have to "check in" and report to ourselves regularly. Just do that. I do however think that High THC products should not be consumed by under 25s. All the psychosis episodes I have heard off witnesses and friends, stated they were underage. I also got "flashbacks" of my state of mind during alcohol abuse when I used edibles. It seems that's a different dragon to beat than smoking or using CBD. I do at times remind myself to re-evaluate my progress. Every Quarter I look at my health and mental stability. If it starts to derail, I get rid of the bad habits. I force myself not to become dependent on something that will set me back and destroy my integrity, health and freedom. Alcohol is a bad habit, with a PTSD bomb attached to it. Our society uses alcohol to enrich themselves but complain when it gets out of hand - and I remind myself that not everyone is as irresponsible as I am. They can actually control their booze. I just can't... Nicholas - Well done on your sobriety. You are a much stronger person than I am. I required other coping mechanisms to be able to break the hold of my demon. That said - not one day passes, where I regret my route, because I managed to escape the drink. Cheers.
