    Thanks for the video. Loving the battery revolution. I’m a golf greens keeper in BC Canada, we had greenworks out twice this year to demo their equipment for our members and also for a greenskeepers tournament, they left various equipment with us for two weeks to demo. Love everything and it depends on your specific use case but most areas have some amount of hills and a 60” deck is the MAX I’d ever use for quality of cut without an articulated deck. Mean green mowers has solved this and now has a 72” and 96” battery ride on. This is a non negotiable for golf courses. We are currently ordering greenworks handheld tools to replace our gas equipment. I’ll never go back to gas and have been in the green industry for 30+ years and the switch has nothing to do with the environment it’s strictly cost benefit ratio. I’m undercutting competing lawn care companies by 10% and my staff are getting raises to best in industry in my area all this AND I make more too, everyone wins. Anyone not getting on this train will be out of business in 5-7 years. Buying gas/petrol equipment is a complete waste of money, time and energy in 2025.

    Hi Luke and Barry . . . I use the 5300sp on acreage. I bought it because as a Makita 40v Max user I could no longer work effectively with this great mower that is completely hamstrung by inferior batteries and a really poor battery management system. So I parted with $3600 to buy into a platform that has the best batteries/chargers and battery management system out there. That well deserved compliment is however the only good thing I have to say about the Ego 5300sp. In fact I have no hesitation in admitting I have made a great mistake. This is without doubt the worst mower I have ever owned. I have no intention of returning it for a refund as Barry says. It is too late for that as I have had it for over 30 days. Lucky Ego! I have used it a lot and this is why I know just how bad a mower it is. Fair dinkum, this is by far the worst mower I have ever owned. I'm talking about mowing here not the battery system. First up the mower will fill the ample 85l grass catcher but . . . look back and you will see scattered grass clippings in a nice little line necessitating a double or even treble cut and this is with a half-filled catcher. This is not an isolated incident it is all the time. I, like most Australians, like to cut low. But this is on height 2 or even three. Please don't suggest that the single bar blade may be blunt. This has happened from new and I always keep the blade sharp! In really long grass I use the $80 rear discharge chute accessory. I can only go 50m before the chute clogs. The reason is the expelled grass has to pass over three uncovered obstacles before leaving the cutting deck. The rear axle, the rear height adjustment axle and the mower's rear frame. So every 50 m I have to clear the build-up of clogged grass from the chute. When I mow a lawn, it is not uncommon to have to push/pull the mower forward and back when mowing under shrubs or other obstacles. The mower will free wheel forward. But the mower will not free wheel backwards. Even without a battery in the mower the motor is always engaged and you have to drag the mower against the motor to move backward. Try it once . . . it is obvious but not a problem. Start mowing and do it a hundred times and it is a huge problem! Back to the drawing board Ego! The dual lever height adjustment system. I don't want to be insulting but really, come on . . . anyone who has the misfortune to buy this mower and uses this rediculous dual heigtht adjustment arrangement is going to be scratching their head wondering what was, in heaven's name, Ego thinking? To go from the single lever four wheel height adjustment system to this rubbish defies all logic. I'll say no more on this subject. I could go on and on but won't. I'm really disappointed. Having owned multiple Ego mowers and other equipment I expected more . . . but I didn't get it. Really good looking piece of kit. Best batteries, chargers and run time . . . but a really poor mower.

    Happy new year Luke! love the video's mate been watching heaps of them and gained ALOT of valuable information. I'm looking to start a fully eco 100% battery powered operation in the northern rivers of NSW. I believe it would really set me apart from the other boys. 0 emissions, lower noise and no petrol fumes. im not a greenie or against petrol. Whats your thoughts mate? reckon they're up to the test and would last in a subtropics climate or would i just be wasting my time and should wait a few more years for them to release some more gear?

    I've been growing my own, on & off, for 50 years, aviidly for the past two decades, & I absolutely endorse what this clever man says. There is a microbial miracle whuch goes on in the gut pf worms, feed them, they will produce half their own body-weight, daily, in excellent fertiliser. I do use more than that; I took some comfrey cuttings a few years ago & that now provides an excellent fertiliser to line my potato trenches, & living by the sea, where there are no restrictions on seaweed harvesting, that too feeds my spuds. I also use both in a bin of water & feed all my greenhouse plants with the extract. It is also said, if you;re struggling to get enough, that there is all you need for your garden in woodash & urine.

  • @kavabean
    @kavabean 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Do you have a link for the farm that did the testing? Did they write up their results with data including costs, etc? Also where does the compost come from and how much land does it require to make it? Are we looking at 1 acre of land to make compost and 1 acre of land to grow food? What's the ratio? Also, I would guess the results of that farm you mentioned included higher prices you can get for organic food, since with healthier compost-fed plants you don't need the insecticides that prevent organic certification. Is that right? If so how can we say that this compost-led revolution can truly feed the world at the prices that the world can currently afford for food?

  • @ebradley2306
    @ebradley2306 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Pay the farmer now or the doctor later. Have heard bits and pieces of this before but this is the most comprehensive discussion I have heard on the soil food web along with its link to weather. Besides my garden beds, I have some plants in pots/grow bags which I populate with worms. Periodically, I top up the pots/bags with homemade compost or chop and drop. Have been amazed at the life in those things. Move the leaf mulch and the surface is scurrying with all sorts of activity. The worms provide vermicast in situ. Found this out by accident when I dumped a grow bag after growing some seasonal veg and it was full of big worms that got in there from my regular compost or my worm compost. Now when I refresh the soil mixture I make sure a few worms get back into the bags. The pots are sitting on the ground so worms have access through the bottom as well. Also, I have some perennial pollinator-attracting plants in pots. During winter after they have gone to seed, I plant pansies in the pots to help keep the soil mixture activity going. As things heat up again in spring the pansies die back and the perennials come back to life. Win, win. 😊

      I found this AI regarding Epigenetics In a differentiated cell, only a small percentage of DNA is typically active, with estimates suggesting that around 10-20% of genes are actively expressed due to epigenetic regulation, meaning only this portion of the DNA is being "read" and translated into proteins at any given time.
