2009 Hyundai Sonata ignition switch won’t go in
Simple to remove the ignition switch, but if you moved the key it’s near impossible to reinstall the ignition switch. I’ll show you how to fix this

Ur supposed to unhook the battery first. To change a lock cylinder u put ur key on ACC. To change the switch u put the key to ON position.
Life saving tip. Thank you. I was bashing my head against the hood trying to make this fit
How to pull a tumber out with out a key
After hours I finally managed to fix it. I had to carefully pull out the spring inside the cylinder with a tweezer. Then it slid right in.
Was very helpful but you don't need to tape once it goes in just turn it back to cut it off the switch will stay in
Thanks for the help
What a pain in the ass! I just spent the last 2 hours fixing this. I can't even tell you how I finally got it to fit. Your tips helped though
Had the same issue it was a broken piece in the pathway where the ignition switch goes in I removed the debris and it fits perfectly.
This does not fix anything on the 2009 Hyundai sonata I have the same exact issue I was told if you switch the lock cylinder that'll help too didn't fix nothing if anybody knows what part to jump on let me know ASAP
You jus stick your fingers in where the switch goes and pull the spring out and turn the key to the start position and it'll lock and the switch goes right on
Did you ever get it to work
