My red Cocker behaves the same way. Every evening he geht’s crazy….

I give mine food but put my hand in the dish while he eats. I also rub him now and then. Since I did that, he has been fantastic. Problem is that now he resource guards me. When my other dog or my daughter comes to me, he growls at them sometimes. Then I put him on his side and submit him for about 10 seconds, holding his hip and shoulder, not crushing him, just preventing him from getting up till he gives up.

My dog does this and you really can’t train them out of it when they pass a certain age. It wasn’t something we done to him over time though as we got him from a shelter and within a week of pretending to be nice to us he switched. He loves belly rubs and walks but will guard pretty much anything he gets his paws on :(

What the trainer does is very good. He is making him understand that he is the one in charge and not the dog. Over time, and with some luck because cockers are beautiful but very aggressive when they want, the dog will begin to respect its leader... because I think everyone knows that dogs do not see us as a family, but as a pack. ... okay?

approach this is stages. first stage: only hand-feed your dog for a while. second: sit still next to your dog when he eats. three: pet your dog when he eats and then walk away. basically teach your dog, that you are food giver and not a food thief. this is a very deep instinct, but it can be suppressed, just not by force.

Oh my you are making it worse. It’s tough to do but you cannot punish the growling. You need to trade them for something else they like. That reaction exhibited would make them guard worse

Do have exactly the same problem only bonus I got is the check engine light and somtime get it flashing.. The ideea is first I got the gearbox error, after the Ibs sensor, after highest battery drain record in about 10 minute I had to get the battery recharge, and to the end this problem knock sound check engine light and sometimes is flashing.. I got the gearbox oil and oil filter changer, I got an ibs sensor, I got new alternator, new Coilpaks and sparkplugs, and still have battery drain and this. Knocking sound and check engine light, I spent ofer 2000 euro on it and is a nightmare only when I remember how much stress time and money spent on it 😢 I had readed all the comments and unfortunately no one got back to say at least an ideea to the problem if they fixed may be different to each one and not somting common but at least an ideea where to start and what they done if they fixed.... Please I'm literally just spent about 10 hours daily on forums and TH-cam just. To get an ideea and I feel like by brain start yo knock and work as my car 😅 Please help 😊 Thanks

Most often for engine oil old or mixes with other viscocs type ( even stop leak or any kind of other than engine oil) and also only having short drives , so change motor oil to Castrol with recomanded viscocity than take for a long drive atleast 50km the problem will be fix 75% in same day , good luck .

Mines the same,timing chain adjuster,needs taking up a notch,dont worry almost every triple ive seen have this taping noise
