As a fluent English speaker you should not be charging less than $15 an hour.
You started on $2!!!? Crazy. $5 is still too low. I started at $10 and realised very quickly that that was too low. I put my rates up to $15 and the $18. I have a handful of students who I have been teaching for 2 years now and have no problem with my rates (I am in fact seen as being really affordable). Do NOT undervalue yourself or your time!!! You are a professional and you have something valuable to offer.

@@sirgreyashton thank you so much🙏🏽 Yes, I think that’s what I struggled with the most. However through prayer and just accepting my unique approach to design , I slowly understood how I wanted to show up & most importantly how I am graced to show up. Comparison is such a killer of authenticity and if we’re aren’t careful, we will slowly fall in the trap of following “ what everybody is doing “ instead of faithfully moving towards what we know God has placed in hearts, you know what I mean. I constantly I have say out loud “ I am graced to be here, I am graced to show up like this” It also boils down to understanding the target audience God has graced me to interact with or called me to serve This helps in cultivating my own voice too. Have you found your voice yet?
