🫶 that yule tree Veerle - and your hat 😜 And we have the same Santa Lucia tradition in Denmark Hanna - with real candles (for the older children & adults)
Loved this episode! Learning about all the different Christmas traditions was fun and thank you for the reminder of "life is short, buy (and wear) the dress". My goal for 2025 is similar to what Chris said: "Praise more people while being specific". I think I'm doing okay on generally letting people know if I like something they do but I noticed myself how much more powerful such feedback is if it's specific.
The problem with "wokeness" you demonstrated perfectly in this talk. It's a religion. You're a bit of a cult. I remember thinking this years ago at some testing conferences, when first felt it was creeping in. Just stick to the technical discussions rather than the touchy feely stuff.
Still a fan, but the swearing could be toned down a bit 🤭, so I can also recommend it to colleagues to watch. Happy holidays and I am already looking forward to the next session (hopefully to be followed live again).
On the floor laughing. Great ranting 😂😂😂
December is such a chore 😭😭 our project is continuing alllll the way through (please help ;-) )
🎉
Hi!
*promosm*
"Yes. We are all individuals.".....from Monty Python's Life of Brian....... I am the "I'm not" guy, or should I say person. As I mentioned earlier, I find it difficult to discuss on this, as unfortunately I am a white, middle-aged male from a Western Europe country (aka over-priviliged). Nevertheless, you guys (sorry Sanne) had an interesting discussion, so thanks for that!!
Chris, your Swiss story sounds mad!
As always, a pleasure :)
Just to be clear; Doctor Who does not have a time bending screwdriver, that would be ridicoulous. It just opens a lot of stuff except wooden stuff. Not at all weird ;-) Glad you guys address this, the 'woke'-comments were horrifying. Wtf.
Thanks for this great discussion. I agree, respectfully challenge bias and injustice - walk the talk
Opening the stream to Chris going BOOOSTEDDDD confused me
We always start with a very smooth 'are we live?' and this was definitely they most confused beginning 😆
Thank you so much for the shout-out! ❤️ It's also very entertaining to listen to y'all
Glad you're enjoying it. It was great having you on the channel with us. See you after the summer break!
Brilliant discussion on personal development! Lots of different areas of this topic discussed. I liked the quote that Sanne mentioned about how a professional is willing to improve upon their profession. Having that growth mindset to continually improve. I use the block out my calendar approach, however, recently I've had that work creep due to business priorities. It's OK for a period of time, but this has given me energy to TAKE BACK CONTROL now I've done what I needed to do. Reminding myself that I can't do my best work unless I'm continually learning.
Really glad you enjoyed it Melissa. It's good that you are able to flex your focus time as business requires it. And definitely remember to take back control! Hopefully you can join us live for the next meetup. ~ SC
