Why don't your opponents tap? Lol
Dude idk, but it's always these chokes they're not used to... I have 10 sleepers in competition and God only knows how many in the gym. Happens easily every month!
@thepsychedelicathlete Makes for a nice highlight reel. Good for you!
You mean the Marcelo Garcia guillotine ?
@@mofozi no. The Marcelotine aka high elbow guillotine starts in the same spot but uses the grip to pull the forearm into the throat. I get a 10 finger guillotine grip and pull my elbow up and away driving the blade of my thumb to the choke. Probably more similar to a cow catcher style choke/crank.
@@mofozi also, as much as I constantly renaming things is lame, a name that more literally describes the move is almost acceptable in my book.
@@thepsychedelicathlete thank you for explaining 🙏
@@mofozi no problem!! Looks similar and maybe some would call this a variation of high elbow guillotine which it is to its truest sense
@@thepsychedelicathletesubscribed 😊
That was a fake tap! Not the refs fault
I'm stealing this today watch 😅😅😅
Go get em!!!
Clap clap woo
👏👏
Jimmy catches me with this alot, the sweep particularly
@@kongsied4279 we went over it at the Noel Smith seminar and he said he's been hunting it!
Real wrestling! None of the fake scripted shit. But where is a folding chairl lol😅😊
@@patricklee3455 I'll do do chairs and tables, but I ain't doing ladders!! 🙃
Nasty!
@@FearEeatsTheSoul LFG ✊
Not really sure if that's hard enough to make someone tap. If you are doing arm triangle from mount - high chance its gonna work, but from guard.. Maybe for some begineers.
@@gojensonn I have a video on here hitting it on a black belt in comp and have put many people to sleep doing. So, I do know.
@thepsychedelicathlete Sure, i just tried to do it many times but some experienced people acted properly and they were able to escape. Not saying its not working maybe its my fault because i did something wrong. Cheers and stay safe.
@@gojensonn the most important factor in my opinion, unlike a traditional arm triangle position is, against better people with "correct" reactions, you need to lock up a full choke immediately. It is extremely tight if applied well and insanely hard to escape but you won't be able to incrementally make adjustments. They will likely use the window of adjustment to create more space. On the flip side, they are less likely to see it coming, and if done well, much tighter than a typical arm triangle. Just my two cents. It's not for everyone and it takes time to refine.
Was that Trevor from gta5
😆 subscribe for more conclusive video evidence
Trevor vs lamar
You don’t want that Trevor on your Ass Boy!! You’d have you V card snatched quicker than P Diddy took Usher’s Booty and Meek aka Cheek Mills!
Need to lose weight
Right on bro🎉
What was the ref doing
He Tapped
That didn't look too effective but 😲 wow
@@Francis-t9n it's a sneaky one!
Give it a go Pe cker Head!
Everyone blaming the ref. This guy should have actually tapped.
Soft Taps = Deep Naps
Shoulder crunch was right there
Nice shirt lol
👊👊
More reasons to prefer the underhook
🎯
Ref needs to be fired wtf
Need to tap a bit more emphatically!
Nice!
Didn’t even try answering the phone or reinforcing his own arm
Why the fuck you staying in closed guard and not defending?
I hate that bro he should be suspended for that dirty move they do that so there opponent thinks they tap but not enough for the ref to see so the other guy let’s go then if he did he woulda counters and won good for this guy not letting go
You might be right but I also imagine things were getting a bit fuzzy. Either way, I felt it, but I ain't letting go 😆
Awesome
Gotta push that arm towards the head to ease on that choke till you can figure a way to escape
@@saptack53 🎯 only thing is, it's predominantly shoulder pressure the way I do it. But yes, that is at least a top notch idea
I can’t believe he kept his guard locked and didn’t try to open up his guard once you setup the choke. Just wow.
embarrassing
Vn love it! How do you set it up?
Super easy! It's very common for them to frame like this. Imagine just crushing someone's frame. I have a vid on setting it up I will try to upload soon!
@@thepsychedelicathlete right, when they post up their forearm in your neck just drive your weight down, right?
@@peanutbrotha yeah, the closer to the wrist your shoulder is, the more leverage. And you want the arm on the side you have trapped pressuring on the other side like it's trapped in a vice. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work on flexible people. Just use it to pass or funnel into an Americana. I have a short on here using it to transition to Americana in competition against a good brown belt. When it does work though, it's the easiest tap ever. A lot of people cannot handle that pressure or their elbow will explode
Just posted another vid on this that does have a set up. But I will cover this from side control and a bit more in depth.
It makes sense when you realize our government sees US citizens as the enemy.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing that other day playing pickleball
This ain't at black belt. You can tell.
@@qp9259 yes. It is.
@@thepsychedelicathleteBruh, you could start a family in the time it take for him to attempt that hip bump.
@@qp9259well I don't think he's attempting anything but a reaction from a position he feels completely safe. Most black belts would say you can't even be tapped there. I think his tenure and comfort hurt him. He likely wanted to get me to do anything but pry at his thighs. Maybe snag a kimura grip depending what I do. Not even a white belt would perform a hip bump sweep like that on the day he learned it. Only a guy of rank is going to be that chill and playful.
@@thepsychedelicathleteMy little head cannon here is that this is kind of showing the different levels of intensity you'll see in competition at white or blue belt. Personally I knew about chokes like this when I was a blue belt. Its still very believable to me that this would be a low level match. Or he'll, they're both pretty big. So this might just be an absolute match. A lot of the time they'll let you do mixed matches. At least that's been my experience.
@qp9259 it's me. And I know the opponent well. There's a jiujitsu times article on this. This is about 4-5 years ago. It's not Absolute. It's SHW. He was a black belt and at the time, I was a purple belt. I'd tell you his name but I am not trying to blast him. He's actually a really good friend now and training partner. I respect his game a lot but his competition style is played into my game.
Dude wasnt even trying to defend it?
It's not really something you plan for inside your closed guard. Probably didn't think it would be tight
Competing this weekend in a submission only tournament. Thanks for these demos.
@@williammdsilva go get em!!! Good luck 👊
Dude holding guard while being choked is the most white belt amateur shit I’ve ever seen. People shouldn’t compete until they understand at least basics.
Should be an easy sweep from bottom there. Mermaid sweep.
@@Minx717 my right elbow flares out to post if they take me that direction. The biggest risk I've run into is ditching the choke and then attacking my left arm with a razor lock and sweeping me that direction. Once the choke is locked in and I'm tripodded, the best bet is ditching guard and trying to create space with the legs.
That was beautiful
What kind of shit ass closed guard is that
I’ve never seen an arm triangle from guard put someone out, it’s a good way to pass, but damn is there a short window from ‘that’s tight’ to ‘night, night’
@@But_Stuff chokes are my favorite passes 🙃
@@thepsychedelicathletewhy didn't this guy try to elbow shield or anything? He just got steam rolled 😂
@@adamlorden2322he's a pretty relaxed guy and didn't realize he was in danger. My guess
At least the ref lifted his legs to smell his feet, only thing that move is good for.
Hi mom 😴
That’s a great idea! If someone is going for a bump sweep/kimura and they do it too slowly
Love ur vids bro. Great explanation
@@pimplepickerton appreciate that big-time 👊
reff must’ve been swiping tinder😂
You dont tap but keep your feet locked beard mans stupid 😊
Tapped from your own guard 🙈
Wasn't a clear tap. I don't blame the ref.
With one arm trapped and the free hand making that contact with his opponents ribs, that was a clear tap. The ref messed up and wasn’t watching and the submission was tight so the ref should’ve really been watching and he wasn’t.
It was a very clear tap wtf are you talking about?
Lol a subtle one tap on his one chest is very clear. I don't take those risks@@vibrationz8082
Josh is a tough dude. But he’s also been at this long enough to know the proper way to tap
