Under "registry", it has just one folder, there is no backup folder.

Yup, I can confirm that releasing the IP isn't enough. I had to disable wifi entirely through command prompt netsh interface show interface (this will get the name of the interfaces) netsh interface set interface Wi-Fi disable (this will disable the wifi interface)
