Just a video of what is involved in changing the CCV filter on a 2022 paccar mx-13 motor. we probably had 4 hours invested in removing and replacing this. The next one will go much faster as we now know what to do and how to do it.

Kenworth T880 NO AC - Location of Evaporator Core on 2018 Kenworth T880 showing how and where to replace. AC system leaking. The bracket holding on the thermal expansion valve where it connects to the evap core wore and wouldn't seal without replacement....because I broke it. PART UPDATE: I think the parts cost nearly $2-300 last year off the internet. Dealer was $500-600 ish, for parts alone. ...

Was that the problem I've changed mine 3 times and I still get that code truck runs fine just wondering if it's a ghost code no one can ever clear for real
Replaced the CCV filter. But of a pain. Had to pull the ECM to make room to get it out.
Was that a 2x4 bike?
Necessity is the mother of invention! He can haul tools & supplies & do odd jobs, if so inclined to be industrious. Get 'er done!
Damn, he stole a bike, snow blower engine, wheelchair, and a trailer.
For $100 you can get a 49cc kit. Theyre pretty awesome
Just because he's poor and homeless doesn't mean he's stupid.
Pusher power moto byke 😅
That is Badddd Assssss!
I think I found my new mechanic
The real issue is with the hard line that connects to the expansion valve. Too much vibration and the aluminum is the weak link. I replace the hard line with a hose to aborsb the vibration. Done about 20 of them.
@@mobileair6416 I might not be following. The hard aluminum lines are part of the evap core, which is the problem. Maybe we're both saying the same thing. Do you work for a dealer?
@@dumpsterdiary No. Self employed, 23 years into it. The steel suction line is the issue. Vibration and the weak aluminum stat seal flange cracks.
Thank you for the video! This made my day. Super easy
Same problem on my 22 T380. Put 4 in in the last year.
WHAT"S THE UPDATE, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ,I CHANGE TURBO AND ALL THE EGR SYSTEM ,IDID"T SEE AND UPDATE ON CUMMINS INSITE .
Big help thank you
If you look carefully, the bowl was already half full.
I'm not sure what that means
that seems to be a never ending problem with this trucks I replace that on 2018 KW T880 and it only lasted like six months and now it's leaking again.
Yeah it's definitely junk. Make sure to wrap foam weather stripping back around The evaporator core fit from having so much wiggle room inside of there. Also historically I was able to get those evaporator cores for like 50 bucks on parts geek website
Good looking out ! We’re watching !
Thanks buddy
You said Air compressor on both sides of the engine compartment 😂. I think you meant to say water pump instead of air compressor on the passenger side. Am I wrong? Reply and let me know
I meant Ac compressor on passenger side and air compressor on driver side...good catch tho
@@dumpsterdiary that sounds about right 😁👍
why do all tutorials have to be race? If your taken time to do the tutorial then do just that, others wise just state this is how fast i can check for test. so fast very impressive, good for you. how much do you understand? anyone who is trying to get CLP or CDL do your homework don"t rely on this video.
This is for repetition purposes. Every person who works for me who used this video, passed their test on the first try. Would you rather have to watch/listen to someone say the exact same shit over 40 minutes? The CDL studying/understanding needs to be done separately. This is executing.
@@dumpsterdiary I can understand that studying needs to be done separately. My concern with your video is someone who dose not do the studying and acknowledge you video as a foot in the door ,with not having the understanding and safety of operating a professional motor vehicle will not value the lives of others. your video is impressive and for someone who has studied this should be quick refresher before a test to keep you on point. No disrespect to you , just that I share my opinion. Thank you for your reply it means you care.
Break test is not in sequence.
You're out of your mind. So strange to me when people want to pipe up about things they have no clue about... I'm referring to you Danny Yang. If you follow this video to a T, it is a 100% guaranteed pass. You know how I know? This is what we use to train new drivers. All of which pass on their first try because they follow this video to a T.
@@dumpsterdiarySome places In Texas they do a reverse sequence but I dont know if it matters but the leak test is wanted first . Dam good Video though.
Awesome video man! Going to take my class b cdl test next week
Would fail the braking section.
No it won't.
Yep
This was beautiful, well done! Just keep In mind some inspectors expect to hear more like clamps on hoses, no debris on steps or in between dual tires(yes they wanna hear “debris” not nothing in between) for the DEF mentioned that it is full or 1/8th tank. Windshield no illegal stickers. It’s just the little things they will dock you for.. everything else was great!
Spot on. That's great feedback. I also missed the torque rod, license plate light (we don't have them b/c our plates are mounted on the front bumber), and possibly a few other items I wouldn't suggest missing. I made this to train our drivers on a passing test. If you don't miss any of the items I covered, you will pass the test was the goal of this vid. Also, its about 15-20 mins shorter than most other vids online.
What do you use to stencil your letters?
We cut them on a roll of magnetic sheet...i think it's like 10 mil? I'll have to look. Anyhow, you first need to print on paper, then transfer to the magnet, then cutout with a razor blade.
@@dumpsterdiary Oh wow, thanks for the information, cool videos by the way
Those containers are purty, Oorah
Awesome video, i was just wondering if you knew what was wrong with the old evaporator..? It looks like a long curvy pipe with some fins...
The flanges on the pipes coming off the evaporator get bent. This is where the TXV connects to the evap core. Once it gets bent/indented, the TXV no longer holds a seal with the evap core.
This setup is totally junk. Sorry design. I replace evaporator ever 2 years total junk! Same problem leaks then won't reseal
The filter for that thing is impossible. I can't believe the EVAP is that easy to replace. I couldn't smoke enough crack to be an engineer. Not at my age. Maybe when I was very young I could have smoked a lot of crack and just on stupid s*** like this. How they can make the filter so impossible to replace and get the evaporator core comes out so easily? It looks like they're hoping you don't replace the cheap filter but you buy an expensive of operator. Or maybe they just smoked a lot of crack and didn't care. Either way I'm not overly impressed with the Kenworth t680.
Which filter are you referring to? The recirculate filter? The major issue here is how the THX Valve mounts to the EVAP. Terrible design for that big, shaky, vibraty ass truck. I just ordered 2 new EVAP cores...they were out of stock for months only, but you can get them for about $60 each (versus dealer price of $400-$500 each). I have to replace another one on another 880 and grabbed an extra for the shelf.
what are the dimensions of that container?
That was very helpful. How do you guys repair tires?
Thank you sir
What kinda mileage empty do you usually get?
Complete do do. Empty on the highway is maybe 6.5 best case. Both these trucks have the cummins x15 performance motor tho.
Greenway Dumpsters I know The trucks are pretty heavy so I figured the mileage can’t be they great. I see you guys have hook and Rolloff. Do you like one over the other? I’m looking at getting into the business and would love a hook but I think I’ll be starting with a older Rolloff
@@drewmurphy2796 I love hook trucks. They are faster, easier, possibly safer, and you can load/unload boxes on nearly any angle or surface without issue. The problem is the length of containers. A rolloff will haul basically any length. With a hook truck, you are limited, for instance 12-16ft long on a single axle like ours. If you bought a large hooklift for hauling 40yds, your 10yds would need to be probably 18 feet long (therefore they will only be 1 ft deep or so). Our 10yds are 12ft long. A large hook truck couldn't haul them, as they would hang verticle when running the hoist. So, if you plan to run big boxes, and small boxes, use a cable truck (that is my theory).
Greenway Dumpsters I’m leaning more towards a Rolloff to get started and then at some point get a hooklift for the 10-15 yard cans and then do 20-40 with the Rolloff. The hooklift seems great but the downside is the capability of hauling difference sizes
@@drewmurphy2796 It's a tough decision. In 2013 I started with 1 single axle hooklift, hauling 12-16ft boxes, ranging from 10yds to 25yds. Only 2 years ago did I get my first cable trucks. I have 8 hooks and 4 cables now
Same problem on my 2018 T880..tried to fix it but it kept leaking oil..thanks for the video! 👍
I do this everyday at work kenworth t880 evap sucks
Are you a mechanic for Kenworth? Looking for some aim on a different problem
@@dumpsterdiary I dont work at kenworth but where i work our fleet has like 40 2016 kenworth t880 and 4 t880 kenworth 2019
@@Panku2011 Nice! I had one throwing code 3382 - EGR low, something, something, tried cleaning the Delta P sensore and checking the plumbing in that area, but didn't look bad. Ended up dropping it off at the dealer and they think I just need to clean the EGR. Seemed a little unlikely as that EGR was replaced less than a year ago, and this truck has probably only put on 20k miles since then
I have the exact truck with the exact problem. Thanks.
Fred Ellis same, video helps man thanks👍🏿
What part would I need to change if my truck is blowing hot moving but cold sitting still? Can’t figure it out.
Man, I'd love to answer this correctly but I'm not a mechanic or ac person. I'm just a dude with some trucks that resorts to youtube for help. I have a couple doing the same thing right now and I don't know what causes it. One of which was fixed by adding just a little r134, as the compressor clutch was kicking on, then cutting off and would keep doing that over and over. It was a little low, so I gave it a little charge while watching the clutch engage and finally stayed engaged.
Greenway Dumpsters ok thanks for the reply!!!

Panku2011 it was the a/c condenser. Thanks for the reply.
Link to the Expansion valve please
Man, I'm probably a little late, but the new expansion valve came with the Evap core. But to buy the TXV by itself was maybe $30ish
Thanks that helped me a lot.have a 2016 t880 do the same thing,thanks again
