Are you a member of the online forum called The Cabe?
nice clean shop and cool bikes. just wondering if you have any bikes for sale. i am looking for an orange crate type. dont have to be with springer front end. I will be riding the bike. i live in mesa az.
No, pretty much a collector. It always good to keep checking sites like Offer Up and Phoenix Craigslist as you never know what might be listed.
Back in 1970, when I was 14, I was given a new "pea picker, green". I rode it from Aurora, Co. to Lakewood, Co. almost 40 miles round trip. Those were the coolest bicycles back then.
People say that I am crazy when I tell them about a friend that had a Schwinn that "pivoted" in the front. A Springer five speed that you could ride straight down the street with the front wheel on the curb and the back on the road, so both wheels are facing same way. Have you seen or heard of such a bicycle?
I might of heard such a bike before never seen one other than the one bike coaster model I think they called the "swing bike".
Yes yes it is called the “swing bike” I was just going to ask this very question and you both answered it! I owned a “swing bike” I couldn’t remember the name that was it!! 🙏
@@user-wacko-usmc The originals are worth some $$ and they did a re-issue ones 10+ years ago or so? can't recall exactly but seen them only on eBay as they looked cool. Not my type but I suppose takes some skills to ride those.
Very cool. A family friend invented the banana seat. So cool to see it displayed here. Excellent collection.
Who invented it? I would love to learn the details. Thank you.
@jaimefernandez3076 Viktor Schrekengost. An absolutely incredible artist, sculptor, inventor, teacher and designer who lived to be 101. Born in 1906, he passed in 2008. Read all about his amazing life on Wikipedia.
@ I most certainly will do so. Are you familiar with an online forum called The Cabe? You may want to share your information on there. You will have many interested bike enthusiasts in awe. Thank you for your prompt response.
@@jaimefernandez3076 I am not familiar with the Cabe. If you read he also created the Jazz Bowl for Eleanor Roosevelt and other numerous accomplishments. All from the little village of Sebring, Ohio, where I was raised. A village of less than 5,000 people, at one time the pottery capital of the world, which also yielded a real Russian spy and Rosemary Woods, the secretary of Richard Nixon who infamously erased a White House recording of him.
Wait to keep posting new videos! Thank you!
Eric from Sacramento California
You’re brother and Fernando Valenzuela must be smiling up above with their Dodgers leading the Yankees 3-0 in the World Series. Great video! Love the history of Schwinn! Way to preserve it.
You got that right Go Dodgers!!
@ I am building a 68 stingray deluxe and I am looking for a ding dong bell with the red Schwinn logo on it. Do you have one extra?
welcome home brother.
No stick shift? Not a muscle bike
True not a muscle bike nor a real Schwinn as I not into Pacific Cycles bikes but what triggered me was the front wheel part a well known name "Sturmey Archer" drum brake. These bikes when came out in 2020 were $700 bikes online and later Amazon. Not worth that even half or free lol. But got this one for $200 new just used on some photo shoot 30 miles from me and stored away. It rides nice and just a cruiser ride bike nothing special as it is made horrible but it is what it is. One can buy these now online for $500 lol.
КЛАССИКА --- ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНА о таком можно только помечтать -- браво .
super weird question but in regard to those speakers yo u got from work Vivitar Qub Desktop spears is the sounds quality just that trash? I got them for hitting 5 years at comerica and couldnt be more pissed off about them lol
Actually I should of said, "semi" new on this 2020 Orange Krate 125th anniversary. The Stingray bicentennial I meant to say replace the reflector bracket I made for it and replacing it with the correct bracket.
Nice Bikes. I collect them too.
Nice bike!! Thanks for sharing this with us, every time I see a clean schwinn like this I get motivated to work on my project schwinn stingray
Great video alot of techniques for these schwinns, 😎👍
Great video, keep them coming... new to schwinn stingray bicycles...used to bulld lowrider bikes bow im getting into OG schwinn bikes
Im in the same boat! What year Schwinn you building?
These side markers fit a pumpkin??
Sears light yes if you find a Sears light corroded but it for the amber lens for parts. I fixed one in the past a Pumpkin light nice one missing 1 amber lens and replaced it no one knew the differences lol.
There were a few other brands with amber markers but the Sears battery headlight looked very close and works. I would recommend if you find a non working Sears light on auction or elsewhere use a lubricant and spray on each side markers let it set and carefully from the inside pinch one end and it will pop out and carefully installing on pumpkin light not to crack tabs.
@sting64az thanks jbl, I am going to be looking for the parts... thanks for the advice!😎👍
Made in China
Meant to say 2 dimple safety edge fender lol. Been a long day getting tired.
eBay seller "Bicyclebones" has two listings of these Krate fenders. One listing is what he titles "Ok plating" for rider and the other is his "quality". fenders. These are his "Ok plating" but with some polishing you can make them a tab nicer.
Orange?! Even Schwinn wants to be a Flying Merkel...
That is Pacific Cycles for you owners of the Schwinn name nothing more than that. Schwinn been gone since 1991 and thereafter owned by Schwinn Cycling and Fitness till 2001 then the end of the era. Today it is what it is.
That orange is awful , way to brite
The color even back to the 1998 re-issues were not correct colors as they were back in the days. Schwinn Cycling and Fitness brought these back Krate coasters since 1972 last time they were out. The frames on the 1998 were spot on just not the paint color among other details of the bike. These 2020 are Pacific Cycles creations which all of their Stingrays when they took over in 2001 are horrible. I only bought this as it was cheap $200 an offer, I message the local seller and he accepted it. I only like the Sturmey Archer front drum brake and this bike was only used as a prop at some local fashion event and then stored for a few years in a warehouse.
I still have mine that my parents bought me in 1972. It's in bad shape, so I'm sure it would cost me thousands to restore.
Post some pics and describe the parts and hardware you might need to put it back together. I find out sometimes maybe cheaper to find parts in groups then auction site. But either way I done well on both just have to set up a budget and slowly work on it.
Gorgeous bike
Good health body strong
😍😍
This is great video. So many interesting there, like to have some of those record players. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Jay
There are so many nice bicycle, so awesome! Have not seen this many all in one place. Have a good day! Regards, Jay
My sincere condolences to you and your family. I know how difficult it is to losing brother, mom, and dad. Regards, Jay
Beautiful
I worked in the factory that made the reproduction Black Phantom bicycles. I did the pinstriping of the tanks and chain guards. The factory was in Ontario, California. The Kirkbride family ran this factory. The frame welders were in San Bernardino, and the powder coater next door to the factory. It was a pretty amazing operation. Factory location near Franklin and Grove off the 60 freeway.
hey i got a taiwan cruiser deluxe 1995. do u know anything about the back lights havoing a generator option. mine has a wire running to the wheel.
@@Siggy_Sour Sorry, I don't know about the lights on your cruiser
@@brianthesewingmachinetechn9715 thanks anyway, i realize it has a shimano coaster Dynamo hub so im getting closer.

I dig the boombox! I really like that it has an 8-track player built-in!
Montgomery Wards...I bought it in 1980 and took it on Fridays back in High School....I changed the belts in it only 1 time about 10 years ago...Probably a lot better now replacement belts then it had back in the days...
One more thing if this is was made in USA it shouldn't be half the serial number in the bottom of it on the back of the frame of the wheel and there you have it made in the US but if this it doesn't have one that had to be made in China
1997 made in China 100% everything is made in China
It's sad but true but I believe there was a guy in Southern California that was reproducing the fenders that chain guard the rack the tail light and the horn tank.
And my handle bars are only $30 for the phantom reproduction
+Leifberg Studios That is a good price. These pre-war 40's re-issue were less then $30.00 back in 1996 when they came out. Now most of Phantom re-issue parts have triple the original prices. This one i seen go off over $250.00 on ebay several years ago.
@@sting64az well we collectors call eBay now feebay used to be able to sell for free on eBay but no more.
@@awesomeone2979 .. Returning the bike to Walmart? Is this something to boast about? Would other commenters do that? I hope not.
The frames are all the same
I believe the balloon tire frame was not the same size as you think you're probably thinking of a middleweight frame but the balloon tire fenders would not fit inside the middleweight frame actually the frame is it design from the 1946 Schwinn B6 autocycle.
