OMD - So In Love (Featuring Étienne Daho) [Les enfants du Rock - 1986]
Is that OMD with Etienne Daho? He sings in English too? Yup, recently i’ve discovered this rare (previously lost media) of an episode from this French TV program where the English band OMD is in Paris while they were recording in a studio for their new album. They meet up with Etienne as they drive to the place where they’ll perform for the show. They walk and talk about various things along the way, it’s pretty interesting as they get along really well. So In Love was a track Étienne sang with them as you can see here and luckily i’ve been able to fully restore this part, his voice goes so well with Andy McCluskey’s vocals. Insane collaboration as they’ve both made similar music around that time and they both love each other’s work, i’m glad this piece of music history isn’t lost. Sophisti-pop at its best baby!

Oui, récemment, j'ai découvert ce rare (média précédemment perdu) d'un épisode de cette émission de télévision française où le groupe anglais OMD est à Paris alors qu'ils enregistraient dans un studio pour leur nouvel album. Ils rencontrent Etienne alors qu'ils se rendent à l'endroit où ils se produiront pour le spectacle. Ils marchent et parlent de diverses choses en cours de route, c'est assez intéressant car ils s'entendent très bien. Donc In Love était un morceau qu'Étienne a chanté avec eux comme vous pouvez le voir ici et heureusement, j'ai pu restaurer complètement cette partie, sa voix va si bien avec la voix d'Andy McCluskey. Collaboration folle car ils ont tous les deux fait de la musique similaire à cette époque et ils aiment tous les deux le travail de l'autre, je suis heureux que ce morceau d'histoire de la musique ne soit pas perdu. Sophisti-pop à son meilleur !

si.molto di piu di tutto quello che si e' detto.Sempre disponibili a far divertire ed intrattenere facendolo sembrare facile...portano con loro un pezzo di italia ;già all'epoca riassumevano gli anni 60-70 fino ad oggi mentre sto scrivendo.tradizione tecnologia fierezza italica.ironia intelligenza.arte e spettacolo a 360 gradi.Chi li denigra non ha veramente inteso la grandezza sia umana che artistica di questo duo.e grazie per tutti i sogni che avete con duro lavoro tenuto in piedi tutti questi anni, nonostante le delusioni che la vita presenta per mettere sempre alla prova il nostro entusiasmo.
Erano bellissimi e originali e lo sono ancora visti dal 2025.

Non era solo la bellissima voce a colpirmi ma il suo modo elegante e signorile di essere in ogni suo movimento, nel suo modo di parlare calmo, gli occhi che puntavano dritti al suo interlocutore come di chi non ha nulla da nascondere perchè è esattamente quello che appare... i migliori scompaiono per prima, sempre, perchè il mondo è fatto per la sporcizia
