LETS TALK ABOUT FICTIVES | life with dissociative identity disorder
I wanted to take some tome to talk about fictives and the fakeclaiming that a lot of systems face based on the fact they have introjects of fictional characters. Fictives and fictive heavy systems are completely valid, and it’s entirely possible to have large amounts of fictives split often, especially in polyfragmented systems.
It’s important for introjects to seperate from their source but its a process that takes time. They deserve love and healing just as much as any other alter in the system.
Thanks for watching!

How I Was Diagnosed With Dissociative Identity Disorder | Life with DID

Blaine here 👋 We wanted to answer a question we got in our comments, but thought it was best to answer in the video format as it is a long story. We didnt find out we were a system until it was brought up to us by a doctor which then lead us down the path of finding a DID specialist who diagnosed us. It took a long time and we had to confront a lot of internalized ablism along the way to accept...

How do Alters in a DID system interact with each other?
มุมมอง 4484 หลายเดือนก่อน
Alters in dissociative identity disorder systems can interact and communicate with each other through the process of integration, which lowers the amnesia barriers within the system, allowing alters to talk and share memories and feelings with each other. This can be done through therapy and using external communication methods like journaling

Ok but which meds do you take for pain? 😅

    • @cryptidink
      @cryptidink 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

a muscle relaxer, naproxen/tylenol/ibuprofen (gotta change it up often), lidocaine, diclofenac, and gabapentin. I had an epidural and am scheduled for another one soon, which has helped me decrease my gabapentin use and stick primarily to low dose muscle relaxers, tylenol, and lidocaine. It's a lot but with my severe back and leg pain theres not a lot that helps unless I combine certain medications.

Huh, this is interesting. I don’t have DID but I have OCs that I consider to be different branches of myself, and some of them are fictional characters that I’ve sort of adopted as my own either through writing fanfic or roleplaying, then they’ve grown and changed just as I have over the years. I never disassociate but rather I see them as all being parts of myself that I can interact with (in my head ofc). I have autism and I am wondering if DID with fictives might overlap with autism in some cases.

2:24 I have this too, to keep up the masking for our system i think. we call them storytellers or narrators and the nature of their job gives them communication with most parts of the system, albeit only pieces of other parts that are also storytellers. It also brings in the hierarchy vibe cause the storytellers "make" the story of our life and our behavior.... theyre also perpetual gaslighters. They keep the amnesia blocks in place in that way, its in their job description. My system organization and political ideologies have gone hand in hand. As of now anarchism feels authentic, and it makes breathing much easier. Jobs are just jobs, and if the govt is forcing you to work shitty jobs to live, its a shitty system that needs to be uprooted. The storytellers dont want to be storytellers but theyre scared to do anything different. And when youre a system youre working with every aspect 🤦🤦 cant just revolt bc you are the rich people and the poor people. you HAVE to work it out and hear each other out or the body gets a migrane that could kill a victorian child and then NO ONE wins 🤦🤦✋️

after watching this, my experience has been a little different - but still so incredibly similar. i developed a chronic illness in 2020 that became so bad throughout 2021 that i could not function anymore. I was in so much pain all the time, i could no longer stand or walk for long periods of time and i could no longer eat without becoming violently ill - and in the years since then, my doctors have not been able to find a physical cause. they've only found signs of damage to my body from being sick for so long. i've been to numerous GI specialists, i've been tested for so many things, and i even ended up in physical therapy for pelvic pain. i only recently found out that in my "file" it was said that these were somatic symptoms, and i only found out through court documents because i've been trying to get on disability since i've burned through my savings trying to figure out why i'm so sick so suddenly. my doctors did not tell me. one of my doctors even outright suggested that "i'm just stressed and need a vacation." i started my evaluation last week. not diagnosed yet, but its coming.

We'd also like to add that outside of fictives and factives, introjects can also be things like songs, stuffed animals, and objects which are kind of in their own category since they are based on an external source, just not people. I think some of the more common introjects like that are stuffed animals from peoples' childhoods, who often for some serves as protectors or caretakers and soothers of sorts. We haven't heard too many systems talk about these ones, so just wanted to add onto the video for random people passing by!

For me fictive was the first alter part I was able to fully see before knowing that we’re a system so for a long while I thought I was acting and was like stuck in a role like when actors talk about it but we like to use spider verse to describe Introject because in the sp this one guy spider-man but there’s so many different version of this one person from gender, culture, time, name, sexuality, language, abilities. We have fictives that are really close to their source and just accepting that’s just who they are and other not so much that goes to both popular and not well known media.

Hi Cas, it's nice to meet you :)) that's our collective name, it's cool we have that in common! We can relate to that a lot, a lot of our fictives choose different names out of embarrassment, but I wish there wasn't so much stigma -Uriel

Fictive systems are systems too. We love preaching this because since middle school we've had a friend that is a whole fictive system minus the host. The friend is not in the plural community for obvious reasons. But they give us permission to share some of their story. They knew about their DID before we did. But we have them the name DID when we found out about DID bc it sounded similar what they experienced. 2 years later, our system emerged. Their system has many more alters than us. Almost all are fictive. Some are soul bonds and cannot actually front. And they have much better communication than us which we will say all the time it makes us jealous. Some of their fixtures are from sources we know and it is odd sometimes to see their differences. But as a system also with a few fictives, we know that fictives are their own person and not an exact replica because they came from our mind. Our mind with our convoluted head canons. It's they came from the head of their creators not us, so we will never understand the characters to the fullest extent. That's why we have subtle differences in fictives. Also lived experience may change them overtime. Nothing in this comment is factual and purely about experiences. Every system is different and every system is valid. Every alter is valid.

Thank you for talking about this, as a fictive heavy system its really hard for us to be anywhere without people straight up fake claiming over having a fictive or factive of someone they hate and people really dont seem to grasp that those who actually does suffer from DID/OSDD can't help it. On a side note, we have no one from super natural but our highest source counts is fnf, dmmd, and loz since all 3 is eithet a hyper fixation or a special interest for us
