Hello Jon, the instructions say "Periodic cleaning of the fans front cover and casing can be carried out using a soft damp cloth. Care must be taken when wiping around the control panel. Warning: The Unity CV2GIP / CV2SVGIP must be isolated from the mains supply before removing the electronics cover. Do not use solvents to clean this fan." We would recommend consulting an electrician if you are unsure. Hope that helps?

How does the duct connect to the unit in the ceiling? Mine may need replacing. Is it a quick like for like replacement?

@@3619jon The duct is "likely" to be: www.electricpoint.com/manrose-1021-pvc-flexible-ducting-100mm-3m.html normally fixed with electrical tape or a word drive clamp. As long as you can reach both ends "should" be relatively easy...

Depends on the size of the utility room to be honest.....

Hello Martin, I must say the duct looks a bit "mangled". These are the guidelines on the fan installation guide concerning ducting: "Flexible Ducting - Ensure ducting lengths are kept to minimum and ducting is pulled taut so that it is smooth and straight. Where bends are necessary, and where ducting is run in restricted areas, ensure the ducting is not crushed. Connection of lengths of flexible duct must use a rigid connector and jubilee clips or similar to ensure a long term seal is achieved. The whole point is that this is a continual background ventilator, you cannot turn it totally off.

Set the trickle mode on minimum. To do that you need to re-set the settings by putting the fan in commissioning mode and then reselect the settings you require. See the instructions for further information.

I also find it a terrible product. Our damp consultants assured us the irritating 24 hours/day moaning of the permanently trickling fan in our kitchen-diner was a price worth paying as it would boost when required. In fact over 3 or 4 years it’s virtually never switched onto boost, even when there’s condensation running down the windows and black mould growing in the corners of the room. The bathroom fan seems to come on at random, for obscure lengths of time. Very poor product IMO.

@@ShashankArv yes of course even though designed for commercial purposes you can use it wherever you want. The largest fan classed as domestic is 6 inch, see our range of kitchen fans here - www.electricpoint.com/extractor-fans-and-ventilation/extractor-fans/kitchen-extractor-fans.html This particular model is 9 inch so quite a bit bigger, if you need this size fan for dometic use I would expect the room in which it was located to be quite large. It is recommended that a a bathroom should have 10 air changes per hour, so if you calculate the room size or volume of the room in m3 multiply this by 10 it will give you the required guide extraction rate. @@electricpointonline So 9” and 12” is mostly used for larger domestic & commercial applications, while 4-6” is used for smaller to tiny domestic applications.
