The regulation between wide beam and spotlight is done on the H15R by turning the lens. When you turn the lens, you partly also turn the lamp. It's annoying. The old system on the H14R, where you pull or push the lens, works better. The quality of the light head also seems more solid on the H14R. The adjustment of the brightness of the H15R takes place on the right side of the light head. One is thus forced to use the right hand. On the H14R, you adjust in the middle of the back of the head, where the battery pack is located. There is thus the option of using the right or left hand. I prefer to be able to choose which hand I want to use for the adjustment and not be forced to use my right hand. There is also the option to switch on a red "backlight" That option is not available on the H15R. The lens of the H15R has small facets/grinding in the lens. I'm not a fan of that, absolut not. The edge of the light beam becomes much more "woolly" and it is more "square" in the light beam. The grinding also takes some of the light, so the lamp shines shorter in the spot setting than the H14R, so the brightness of the H15R feels weaker when it has to shine far. The H15R has less concentrated spot area and less wide area as well. So here too the lamp has deteriorated, or should we say less flexible. On the H15R, the adjustment of the light up/down has become stepless. It is the only thing that has improved compared to the H14R. In the battery pack for the H14R, you have the option of using regular batteries as well. I haven't used it, but I'm happy with the option. The magnetic charging on the H15R is fine, but if you have forgotten the charging cable, it is not so easy to borrow someone else's cable. H14R uses USB micro. It is a somewhat more common system and therefore also easier to borrow. With the new charging system, you (I) must have 3 systems with you. I see that as a disadvantage, before I could make do with a system and an adapter. 😊😊

When I'm traveling I used this thing a lot, but honestly not so much for hikes. For day trips I rely on my Ultimate Direction FKT even though I don't like that flask. On the other hand all my salomon flask lids are cracked...

Hey. Sorry for the late reply. Honestly, I have not done any specific testing that provide proper numbers, since it depends on outside temperature and where you store it. I can tell you that an extra insulation with a mat and some tape will help alot. But then you can go to a cheaper flask or more established ones and do that. It kinda depends on whether you like the bigger opening or not.

Hej there. Unfortunately I don't know the weight. And, yes, the netting flexes and shrinks. That's why I prefer the hiking wool over the woolnet, since it's better Reinforced. Hope that helps

Really hard to say. Often it's better to go for some simple construction work gloves. Not a fan myself. But getting wool gloves from the military surplus and some simple leather gloves are a good option. Main reason is the chance to dry them easily by being able to take them apart. Pig leather is obviously pretty weak, but if you rip through more expensive leather too. Might as well go for cheaper but more.

Hej man. Great input. Sounds like you're doing some cool stuff. Interesting to hear that they won't shit gaskets. Especially since it's easy to get replacement parts for the cookers. Where you at? I'm glad they work for you. I tried 2 and it never worked for me. But of course, like you said. Use cases vary.

@@philippbergau5868 Nothing too crazy. Taught wildnerss survival and was doing youth winter / canoe camping trips. So nothing that was week long expedition style. So for my usecases really was perfect. Primus isn't great in Canada as they don't really support of have a presence here. So it's hard to get products or support. Again I would love to have the 1l version as I use my 500ml on pretty much every adventure that isn't ultralite!

Hej Pavel. Thanks for the input. Yeah, its interesting. You could take a thin old sleeping pad or something similar to improve the insulation value of your smaller ones and see if it's enough. Especially for your hikes. Even for the shop. Cause then they can fall off the bench and they'll still be fine.

Hej. Sorry for the late response. I'm running around in medium on top items and Small in the longjohns. The hiking wool compresses when washed and then stretches when wearing a bit.

Hej. Thanks. Hmmm, tough question. But if you wanna primarily want to use it as a resting layer, then the lighter and loftier, the better. The light first layer then 200 over is my regular choice. Although I swap the light to Aclimas Woolnet. But if you want to increase the warmth of your sleeping bag, maybe check Sea to Summit Reactor inner liners. Always wanted to buy one. Otherwise in terms of pure heat to weight you might be better off with polarfleece sweatpants. And they will do that, since polyester doesn't breathe as well 😜

Haha. They are designed for outdoor use by a famous outdoors man. So you're telling me they are not designed for being used to chop wood and protect you while doing outdoor stuff with your hands? Uhu

Hej, sounds like you got some blockage. What kinda fuel are you using? Sometimes after cleaning I still had crutt left in the chamber, when using bensin. For me it always helped to take the nozzle off and plast fuel through the system and then put the again cleaned nozzle back on.

Hej there, thanks for asking. Yeahhhh. Synthetic socks are no go. Always wool in the winter and wool mix on hikes. The thing is, waterproof socks don't hold up that well and if you're out on a run they will be soaked inside from your sweat. At least for me. BUT. Liner sock and hiking sock over, so you'll not have any shaving. Or, "fingersocks" actually started loving those. Stay well and no rubbing between the toes in wet conditions.

Yeah, simple cheap ones don't cut it. Depending on your foot size 8liter might cut it. But I believe those are 15l. Can't check, cause I gotta get myself a bunch for the winter, again. 3liter is way too small and will slide down too easy. Predictable is getting the whole foot in the bottom of the bag, but that's me.

@@philippbergau5868 Thanks, I will look for bigger ones then. So far I tried wearing the bag between the outer sock and the shoe and also between the liner sock and outer sock. Both attempts ended in shredding the bag. I will try your method with two liner socks next time, maybe this will work better.

Sorry. I missed your question. The Canada Goose is a size Large(Xl would be better) and the Plusminusnoll comes in a L/XL size. Which is an XL in my opinion

Thank you, Mike, for sharing. Couldn't agree more. I'll take a look at those Japanese options you're talking about. When you're out on a tour, certain methods are impractical, like preheating the bottle. You can get around it by filling them up in the evening and then refilling them in the morning with the same water, but boiled up. I often do that in the winter when melting snow since it's going a lot faster. Insulating the bottles, absolutely. Thin old sleeping mat, or yoga mat and some tape is all you need. I once wrapped a primus food flask in my sweater and that piece of plastic shit blew up. Needless to say that sweater was useless for my winter trip 😜

@@philippbergau5868 I understand that "filling" a bottle with boiling water isn't going to be workable in the field most times. But if you slosh around a few ounces a couple of times in stages, it will give you a remarkable performance increase. You can get really close to the same results. The same can be said for bathing. I tried to explain to my daughter that 30 minute showers were a waste of water and energy by explaining how, in the Army, I would perform daily field baths with about a half liter of water. Mind you we got pretty dirty too! Haha! Shocking as it may seem, she wasn't impressed........

One or two minutes is enough and I never waste water when using soap, so shower uses very little water. Since very recently, I have been taking sponge batchs in even less water, as I am testing an off-grid life style and don't have shower and running water yet. One liter of water is enough, as you say, and I don't get nearly as dirty ;)

@mikemorgan5015 I remember when I was a kid (66yo now) my dad had a Stanley we took ice skating with us with tea in it. The tea was steaming hot and tasted so good after ice skating. It had a cork stopper too. Every couple years he would replace the cork. I don't know is that is because the original lid broke or if that's really how it was. I can still see my sister and I sharing a cup of tea in the back seat of the car. So good!

The old canteen cup whore bath. I did 21 years in field artillery, MLRS. It's amazing how presentable you can make yourself with a half canteen of water, a little soap and a wash cloth. My trusty Coleman 550B sure made it more enjoyable and effective. Understand and agree with you on using a few ounces vs filling. Perfect world vs reality of field conditions. I used the same "stages" when rinsing off. Haha. A couple tablespoons in the palm a few times and your rinsed pretty well. Now, with hanging bags with valved hoses, it's a breeze when it warm. You can take a pretty good shower under a fast drip.... In winter, though, it's still the old fashioned way unless you like freezing your ass off.

The issue with storing hot food is probably 1) a different design of container, harder to insulate, larger volume (easy eating), and 2) the fact that food had less water than drinks and water has high thermal capacity.

Thank you for your input. But what would be working for you, though? Only pointing out flaws doesn't give anyone context as to what you're doing and what would be a better product to use. As to the holes. I'm wearing Aclima, Devold and Woolpower. All fall apart. Whether they are woven tight, or lose. They all do. Sweaters usually hold up longer. But everything underneath has a shelf life of 2 years max, cause I wear them in small rotation every day working. Warmth. Well... as I said, the 600 doesn't do much, as it is heavy and doesn't trap air well. But 200 in particular works well. So I'd be curious to know what you would call a better product for warmth.

Hej. Not sure which one you're referring to. But the blue one I'm wearing sitting is a Aclima merino wool/polyester mix, the black/brown/red hoody is Aclima too and is cotton/bamboo. The goretex jacket is a light blue/orange.

I noticed that in a generic 1L stainless steel flask from a supermarket from circa 15 years ago. Although, it is warm to touch, so I suspected either poor quality or perhaps lost vacuum. If it happens for Stanley, it has to be a natural limitation. Similar, genetic 0.5L is good for storing liquids. Swell 0.75L narrow bottle keeps hot drinks for 24h and is my best one. It was a gift at a work place. I consider upgrading genetic flasks but not sure about the sizes of Stanley bottles.

It's the all terrain clog. After 3ish years I'm just about to replace them
