Vlog #5 - This Party was LIT!!! (with fireworks)
มุมมอง 2375 ปีที่แล้ว
On the New Year's Eve of 2018, we were asked to DJ at an Arabian party. The event was a small gathering of family members and close friends, which we were honored to take part of. They gave us a playlist of Arabic songs completely foreign to us, and we weren't even sure if we would pull it off. However, in the end, this event turned out to be the most Lit ever!! Does having the sub behind the facade work without compromising the sound?
Love it!

HIII! If y'all wanna see a UCR Falkirk apartment tour, I just posted one up on my channel!! Go check it out, I hope its helpful!! :)))
What up lights are those
The ones used here were the American DJ (ADJ) Mega Tripar Profile Plus.
Thank you for another successful Move In - we wouldn't hire any DJ but DJ Mitosis! Great job every year!
Hey ! Nice set up ;) Can you please tell me when I can buy this table that you use for mixing ? Thanks in advance ;)
the fold out table we use is on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Odyssey-CTBC2060-Carpeted-Folding-Adjustable/dp/B001Q3KTLA , but the Facade that goes in front of the table was something that we built ourselves
just found your channel, sub to my channel I've sub to your channel.
very elegant
I would suggest upgrading your speakers to pretty much anything else! A set of Alto TS312 Speakers would sound phenomenal compared to those Behringers. QSC K12.2, or Yamaha DBR or DXR speakers. QSC CP series...you get the idea! Other than that this is a pretty clean set up. I would also suggest having a 2nd laptop set up as a back up, or at least a tablet or something. I could not tell if you had a back up music source readily available?
I agree with you brother, I myself own a pair of behringers b212d which believe me i love how light and compact they are, but do sound pretty bad. When I first bought them of a friend ($250 the pair) while i tested them out i though he had sold me blown speakers lol but its just the sound quality isnt at all good. I now only use them for small gigs, and for my larger fancier events I use the K12.2, unbelieveable sound quality compared to the behringers. Before the behringers my first speakers were an older model unpowered harbingers that i got for $200 at guitar center which even for being a gc brand, sounded way better than the behringers
@@djdashdfw Thanks for the tips guys. We are working towards upgrading to QSCs.
Cheap
Looks ok guys!.....but if you use 2 cable straps on the speaker poles, you can use a third to prevent the mess at the bottom (cable strap wires on lighting stand too). Also, the speaker & power wires coming from the speakers can be easily put together nicely and hidden....try using professional black Gaffer's tape (both sides - Left side looks worse). You will achieve a much cleaner look. Lastly, get rid of the yellow extension cord.....everyone see's it. :) This is only advice....not criticism. Enjoy!
Hi there - thanks for the input and suggestions! We are constantly trying to improve and understand what you mean about keeping things tidy. We don't tie down the cables on the floor to give slack when the speakers get moved around. Sometimes, waiters or other people would move it, and we don't want cables to get disconnected. As for the yellow extension cords, we do want people to see it! That way, people are cautious and not trip over it. Same reason why we used white gaffer's tape instead of black. But I do see your point though. Because they're different colors, it's not uniformly black and ruins the overall appearance. You've definitely gave us something to think about :)
Hello! Just want to ask what is the height of your facade?
Each panel is 4 feet high by 2 feet wide.
koalabear888 thanks!
Nice set up but you need to be close to the dance floor...this is a terrible spot to set up at....😁
sometimes the venue coordinators/managers/owners predetermine where the dj sets up...90% at the worst possible spot
@@djdashdfw You're right about that. For this particular event, you can see that there was a band setting up on the stage in front of the dance floor
Great setup man, looks like a nice venue! Subscribed to your channel mate
is that a band setting up next to you?
Yup - the event had a live band for traditional music during dinner and then we played after the dinner.
the chick in red can get it
West Coast?
Thumbs up for Giorgio, are those 12" subs? It sounds like middle eastern music. If I could give you a suggestion on setting up, use the OHIO technique, Only Handle It Once. When loading the gear in, put it in its final destination, instead of putting it down and then picking it up again to set it up.
That's a good point... in the warehouse industry, they say "No Double Handling", which is the exact same concept. We will have to implement that because it makes sense! :)
The laser in the centre doesn't look straight one of the stands looks shorter than the other (right one in the middle)
dude that is so awesome
really nice setup
hey bro, how do you like those behringer subs? I've got the 12 inch tops but want more bottom end. what would your ideal room size-event for using those subs be? does it put the bass on the dancefloor unlike a 15 or 18? thanks
hi - sorry for the late reply, but for your 12" tops, I would go with one 18" sub. We use our 18" QSC sub with two 15s and it rocks! In this setup, it's two 10s on top with two 12" subs on bottom.
How are the d1200 and how big was the room. Are they enough?
The room was probably about 25-30ft wide by 70-75ft long. Our speakers were focused on the dance floor in front of us - so they were fine. If we were farther away, then we would definitely need something bigger. The bass is not heart pounding, but rather to fill in the low end that the 10" speakers can't produce. If you want heart pounding, the 18" subs should do the trick!
Chevere!, felicidades!,
Hi there im a new subber to, good luck with your functions:}
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Hope it was a good night, i have a Retro set up wich i have not used for about 4 years. Pinspots, lighting screens, and some NJD lighting. Im going to start using now, as i miss the disco scene. Good luck with your functions, kind regards.
nice!
New subscriber here!!! Shout out from South Texas.
Hi guys! What did you use as a facade bag? Noticed two blue bags. Can you let me know where I can get them.
For facade covers, we use laundry bags that you can get at any retail store or order online. Not the best solution, but it does work.
Very nice compact setup. What sound system were you working with for this event?
Behringer
DJ Mitosis thank you.
DJ Mitosis I'm sorry I forgot to ask what model speakers? Behringer ...?
Lol, yes Behringer speakers
nice clean setup
were are you guys based out of.
Thanks! We are based out of Los Angeles, CA
great job love the gig logs
Your joking, right? There’s wires hanging all over the place...
Nice setup would be cool if you went pink, white, pink etc...on the facade uplighting. Just a different look from the norm. Still, your setup is eye candy. One love.
Great suggestion. We'll definitely try that out in the future!
Btw im Martin i was in the boat with danny ayala.
Thanks Martin. Glad you liked the video. It was a fun party!
