Any advice on a smooth finish? I tired doing this last week but I hated how it turned out. I had so many bumps from my newspaper in the crevices of the pumpkin
@@graysheep3592 if you dry the paper mache too fast it will crinkle up. There is some degree of bumps on my helmet too, which is hard to get completely smooth. You could also try adding more layers and sanding it once it’s completely dry. Hopefully this helps, good luck!

I'm making a head out of paper mache too :) I have one question tho. How many layers did you use? Because it looks kinda sturdy. the head I'm working on can be seen in the community posts.
I think I made my head about 3 layers thick. I used a lot of glue and its holding together well

Hi! I'll be making it for this Halloween, it's super cool. Just a question, i know it's depends on my head size, but what are the mesurements of the mask, if you still have it? Like height, width and depth? Thanks
I made mine a bit small and its about 10 in x 10 x 10. it is a little tight to my head and I would recommend making it a bit bigger. also make sure to take into account, the paper mache shrinks when it dries. hope this helps and good luck!
@@ABArtStudios Thanks for answering! I stuffed with paper and closed the bag, it is now 10 x 12 x 15. I think i'll open it again to make it a bit taller, since from the top of my head to the base of the neck, it's 10 inches. Thanks

I used Elmer's glue for the paper Mache and watered it down a bit

what did you use to get the paper masha that shape cause i can’t find no balloon that shaped
I used a large balloon but you can also fill a plastic bag with newspapers and use masking tape to hold it closed and tightly packed together. Hopefully this helps!

thinking about doing this for halloween this year!! had some questions, did you apply any gesso or something to protect the paint? how is the head holding up a few years later?
also what did you use to mold the stem? cardboard or clay or something like that?
I didn't use Gesso but I should have. It would have saved me a lot of paint because I had to do multiple coats of orange. The head is still doing well and holding together great. For the stem I used card board and tape to get the shape I wanted. Good luck on your Halloween costume and thanks for watching!

how do you print them
@@lavboj I use the website sticker mule and they have very reasonable prices. For the stickers I made at home I either hand drew them or printed them using a normal printer onto sticker paper. Hope this helps
Cool video. I started doing sticks and the Best part is stick it around and know people are seeing my art. If they like it? I'll never know
