This week I will continue wit...

An absolutely fundamental video on oil pastels techniques and approaches. See the example at 29:10 and others.
Mine is done with Paul Rubins oil pastel. I’m OK with them.😊
I wanted to show my work but cannot add a photo
Thats so interesting about Picasso using oil pastels for travel!
so nice ❤new subscriber
Sennelier Made the oil pastel for Picasso … as well as they Made soft pastel for Degas
Can you give us the name of Alexandra Cray…… with the vivid red mountains again? I would love to look up for her art, to find out more about her. Great series!
I just can't stand oil pastels. Painting with them is strenuous and unfortunately you can see this in the works. I tried for a while and gave up
Absolutely gorgeous work❤
What a good idea

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying so hard to find videos on this technique! Love it❤
Beautiful paintings!
This has been so interesting as I'm just starting with oil pastels!!!
THEY ARE IMPALA!
Haha! Thankyou! Aren't they beautiful! 😊
I have published a downloadable PDF with more details about how I made this printing press which can be purchased from my website here: www.jamie-poole.com/store/p147/Homemade-wooden-printing-press.html
This is great, Jamie, and given me some food for experimentation with my work, using different tools and techniques. Any ideas on what tool Kurt Jackson might use to make those very fine, scibbly, scratchy lines he often used to show foliage or trees/branches in the forground of a painting. they look too fine to be a brush. Thank you!
He is very much a mixed media artist. Some pictures are small and some are huge. For smaller images he might use a soft pencil. There are lots of videos on his work.. 🤔
Thanks, Jamie@@jamiepoole6641
Very Usefull . Thanks for sharing !!
My pleasure
Your videos are always so helpful and interesting! Thank you for the nice work :)
Glad you like them! Thankyou!
Sennelier perhaps?
Thank you! This helped me set up composition for a piece I am planning.
Pleasure! 😊
Good to learn the golden ratio and how to apply it.
so nice 😍❤️
Thank you 🤗
Thank you so much for keeping it simple and understandable! You made it very enjoyable!!!
Thankyou! 😊
Can I ask what size Berol pen do you use please ?
Its a standard writing pen i believe
Ok, as I am from SA, I recognised your flower: it is the Protea. Which also happens to be the name of our cricket team!
❤I love oil pastels and Van Gogh! TY
Amazing!
Thankyou! Very interesting.
Glad found you. Do like your explanations. Am looking forward to more. Thanks.
Enjoyed the illustrations and narrative. Nice seeing so many pics showing what to look for. Thank you.
Promo`SM 😂
You know exactly what you want to create and do it with perfection.
Cool art! I just stumbled upon this channel. Fantastic.
Thankyou. 👍
Wow this is inspirational. This is now my long term pastel goal. Thank-you for sharing.
Thankyou. 👍 😊
I have the Sennelier and they’re reeealy soft and a little bit greasy, I have a little trouble getting opaque marks with them. I’m thinking I need to let the layers dry in between? I like the Paul Ruben’s a lot for the price. I’m also an art teacher.
Sennelier oil pastels are not the same consistency in all their sticks, so some pigments are more transparent. Is doesn't matter you apply more layers, is the pigment in itself that is transparent, plus oil pastels do not dry persé. Being an art teacher, Im surprised you don't know the basics...
@@veystone2580Sennelier inform you which pigments are used on each stick wrapper. The website also has details on each colour available and if they are transparent, semi transparent or opaque.
@@murph8411 why are you telling ME, that?!
Nice! The company is called Sennelier and they still have a shop in France and you can order the same colors they made for Picasso 😃
Do you happen to have a tutorial of some kind on channel? I would love to have a crack at making one myself
Hi there, I don't currently have any tutorials on this at the moment. But I am happy to answer questions and send you the drawings I made for it too.
@@jamiepoole6641 Thank you so much!!!
Can I have too? This press is amazing!
@@jamiepoole6641could I please also have these drawings?

8:55 invest? 😂 Pentel oil pastels are hilariously inexpensive.
That's true, but the others can be a bit more money. Such as Paul Ruben's or sennelier. 😊
I got randomly recommended this video and highly enjoyed it, great inspiration
What controls the pressure on the roller and thus the clearance from the material which is being fed through ?
At the side of the press there is a space where I add cardboard or wooden tabs. That applies more pressure. Also I add packing or paper on the platen which adds further pressure.
💃 'Promosm'
What's that?
Excellent video on using the golden ratio for composition for any sized canvas
Thankyou! 😊
That is beautiful press there what did you make the press negative out of the plate that you ink with the design on it
Thankyou. It's grey lino I made the plate from. A soft Linoleum.
Can you give me your website address. Thank you.
