My iTunes sees my CD, but Apple Music does not, which doesn't allow me to import the CD's music via Apple Music. Can you help me figure out what's going on?

Does the adapter affect the rip quality?

I hope you read this months after your post. I have this Apple drive, an older iMac, that I rarely use, with current iPads/iPhones. Previously I would insert a CD, or DVD into the drive and with a few clicks, upload it to my iTunes account. From there I could easily download it to an iPad, or iPhone. I just tried this today Dec 2024, and it was even simpler as in your video it automatically asked if I wanted to import the CD to the Music app on my iMac. Now I need to figure out how to sync across devices from the music app versus iTunes. However, when I insert a DVD it automatically plays on my IMac instead of giving an option to add it to either Apple TV, or an iTunes library. Is there a solution?

Apple SuperDriver is EOL now.

The music app on my 2014 MacBook Pro will burn music cds on the dvd drive I took from a dead 2009 iMac, connected using a usb to sata adapter, but refuses to read them. Go figure.

Chuck (hope you read older YT vids), first, I am a techno-impaired senior so my question may appear absurd. I do have the Apple Superdrive (ironically both with USB and another with USB C) I have dozens of CD's of older music my wife loves and wants to listen while working out (using iPhone). What I am hoping is there a way I can download the CD's from the Super Drive directly to a flash drive, therefor skipping tha laborious step of unloading to my MacBook and then downloading to a flash drive?

I also have the Apple Superdrive and CD's that are not available on streaming platforms, bit when I connect my Superdrive to my 2017 iMac running Ventura, I get an error code stating that there's not enough USB power and the Superdrive will not work.

Have you tried the LG LG Electronics USB 3.0 Compatible Super-Multi Slim Portable DVD+/-RW External Drive? I just bought a MacBook Pro and wanted to upload my cds, but I see the SuperDrive is either sold out or discontinued on the apple website.

Thanks for the video. I have an Amazon usb-c adapter and trying to get the SuperDrive to work, but it’s not being detected. Maybe I need to try the official Apple usb-c adapter to see if that fixes it for me. Any other ideas on why it won’t work for me on my M2 MacBook Pro? Thanks!

oh my gosh, i've been hoping so much that they do some kind of dvd release 🙏 it was my first concert and everything aabout it blew me away and I wanna keep watching it over and over!

If you don't want to spend a bunch of money and don't need it to look pretty. Just take a CD/DVD drive from any old pc. They come out easy. Next purchase a SATA to USB adapter (they are cheap). Then plug it in and your Mac will see it. It does not need to be made for a Mac. It works GREAT. Thats what I do with my MacBook when I find a great CD to import.
