Makita Finishing Sander Restoration (BO4550)
I purchased this sander for $18 at a local thrift shop. The dust bag was availabe for purchase but I neglected to buy it because in my experience they never work well. I believe the year of manufacture is 1983.

Makita Miter Saw Restoration (LS 1030)
มุมมอง 18K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I bought this Makita miter saw from a local thrift shop for $29. It was functional but was missing some parts and had seen better days. This video was the process I used to get it working and looking like new. I ended up having to spend roughly $70 extra full replacement parts.

This is so useful! I have the same model #. I took mine apart a few years ago but when reassembled, it would not work. So I needed to see a breakdown of assembly and make sure my assembly matched it. Your video is first rate. Close ups, great visuals, no talking and no music. So perfect. Please keep making these. You are saving power tools around the world and making everyone very happy. Thank you! Greetings from California.♥♥♥

From 6:59 to 7:10 he appears to be putting Thread Lock on the plastic casing. Why? Otherwise found this extremely helpful!

Thank you! This was invaluable -- the only instructable I've found for my 30-year-old trusty sander. Dismantled, cleaned, replaced the cord and pad -- works like new. You should do more of these 😍🥳

The camera cut off the can label but you can use acetone, mineral spirits, alcohol. Looks like alcohol to me. Steel wool 0000 grade is great for polishing up metal parts.

I'm bidding on this model of saw on an online auction. I was looking for reviews and came across your video. I admire your tenacity and the final result. I assume it worked would have been nice to hear you fire it up. Thank you for taking the time to do this and share.

I was watching this to figure out how to recompress the spring. Of course it would be the one single thing that is out of sight of the camera🙄

i'm watching this for the copper coil things that fit around the brush holders. my machine burnt both of them out and the little copper coil things are unavailable, whatever they are called. i can buy a new motor assembly to get them but id prefer not to. the coils you installed dont look like the ones that came out of it. one of them seemed stretched. did you put new ones in? where did you get therm?

Sorry - but this sucks. What products are you using? And why? Why no commentary? What parts are worn and need replacement? What ones don't?

No need for the negativity. This helped me know how to take apart my own sander and clean the brushes - which were causing intermittent problems. Thank you and much kudos to the creator of this video all the way from the UK! 😀
