I'm an artist studying color and I agree with your studies. Yellow is a color worn well by deeper skin tones. Also, it is a color worn well by warmer skin tones. If no warmth is in the skin, this color will make the skin look sick.

I was putting petrol in my car at the garage the other day and a nice looking motor turned up and a lad and two ladies got out.All three completely orange, the two gals pumped up lips like tractor tires ,fake eyelashes and all. It's such a monstrous look.
