I don’t think this is really teaching them anything. If they do it full speed they learn the transitions which are important, but he is skimping the transfer because he doesn’t realize that’s the main part of the drill. The movement doesn’t help because you aren’t teaching them to read, so a poor read will still be a poor read on the ball. Idk I think a ball just needs to be involved, makes them exert effort that’d be useful
