Mox’s time in WWE is an excellent case study in why WWE needs competition. This is why any monopoly produces crap on long enough of a timeline. The three emergence of actual competition in pro wrestling is the fork in the road where the industry started to become healthy again. If that goes away, you go back to the dark age equivalent of the early 2000s. One company running and ruining everything.

Thanks for making this video. In 2019 Jon Moxley took a leap of faith and went to fulfill his potential. It is 2024, and Mox is easily one of the top wrestlers in the world.

Jon Moxley is the most underappreciated wrestler of the current era. His style is incredibly intense, raw, visceral, and his 2022 run with AEW, NJPW, and the indies is GOATed. There are extremely few wrestlers who love the sport so much that they still go wrestle in the independents. Mox does that. In fact when he left WWE, AEW wasn't even around, so his plan was apparently to wrestle in the indies and Japan. AEW and Mox are lucky to have each other. Now he is the absolute ace of that promotion, and the only man in history to have been world champion at WWE, AEW, and NJPW. He is on his way to become an all-timer.

Who gives the PG era this kinda props? It was a horrible transition and time for fans my age. I was a sophomore in high school when it went PG. I was afraid back then that the kids the PG era drew would grow up and think of that era as "good old days". Sure WWE has had some good standout moments since that period but there really hasn't been anything that special or memorable since then- not like the Federation, Attitude, or RA eras. WWE has felt like some kind of bland blur since that transition. It's nowhere near as bad or cartoony now as when they first went PG but you just had to be there for the previous eras to truly understand and witness what I'm talking about.
