Hoosier Metal Detecting
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ต.ค. 2024
Metal detecting!!! I'm pretty new to the great hobby of metal detecting and working with cameras, learning as I go and wanting to share all my experiences with everyone. Stick around, as I plan on getting as much content as I possibly can. I have just started gathering footage of great old finds on some of the first known farms and old home sites in this area. For now, all my filming will be in the state of Indiana. But lets see where this goes. Thanks for hanging around.
Another 1800's coin, bells, relics. I even dug up an arm!!!
Metal detecting an 1800's home / farm site and found yet another special 1800's coin, relics, including a couple of bells and an arm. lol

Detecting part of the half mile lane that ran up to the 1866 home site. A bucket lister coin laying right on the surface of the roadway. Crazy!!! Thanks for watching. No Way a civil war relic in Indiana and a first of these bucket listers for me ever!!!

Join me as I'm still metal detecting on an old home site from an 1866 map. I still can't believe the old coin that for sure predates the home that used to sit here. And after a better cleaning, come to find out my first ever civil war relic.

Please hit like and subscribe If you liked my first video. Stick around for more exciting videos to come. Metal detecting an old home site from an 1879 map, but had a modern home until a few years ago. I found a couple things that could pre-date the first home ever documented on the property. God bless and thanks for watching.
Old silver in the Hole!!! Could it be an 1837? Metal detecting an 1800's home/farm site.

First of many videos to come as I learn cameras and software, not to mention I'm still learning the detecting equipment. The first silver found at what was once an 1800's farm. This coin had to have been carried around for a lifetime.
Awesome channel and finds man! Great to see a great channel from Indiana. I'm in Southern Indiana myself. I've been researching the farm i hunt and it dates back to 1817. The first guy on it was one of the first property owners in the county. I know there has to be some good stuff in the bean field and woods. I think a couple homes never made it on the first maps.Hope to start detecting it this weekend if the weather doesn't get bad. Can't wait for the next video.
1817, that sounds awesome!! Good luck, I’m sure you will find some great stuff. The ground has froze here. Luckily I have a few videos in the bank.
Relocated Hoosier here. Way to go on the relics. Congrats on that 2 cent coin and full crotal bell. Is your ground frozen yet up there? Thanks for shooting another video for us. Always great scenery and music in your videos. Well done. 👍
It froze up right after thanksgiving but warmed up a bit. I got a short hunt in then, but still dug through 4-5 inches of frost. By the next day and rain that night it was all good but froze up again a day or two ago.
Awesome video, fellow Hoosier
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
I am contemplating how I should get exercise when I retire, metal detecting came to mind. I researched it on TH-cam, found your channel, and was taken aback because I’ve known you since you were a child. I spent many hours in the field with your father hunting artifacts. I’m continuing to follow!
You should stop in the shop and we can talk. You can call anytime for hours and let me know your schedule.
They modified it for a button .
You are doing great for just starting out
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
You should take the coin and some twine and remake the toy. See how well it works
We are going to start calling you the Coin King. You are killing it out in that field. 👍 Congrats and thanks for the great videos.
lol
That 2cent piece is top notch. 👍 I’ve only dug one of those in 20 years. Looks like you dug a small tribe of IH pennies. Congrats on that cool old heel plate too.
Nice old fatty IH. Congrats. 👍 Are you using the Minelab Manticore ?
Right now I’m using an Xterra elite. The manticore on my wish list.
I like the relaxing music you play in your videos. 👍 Do you think that owl bell piece could have been a bicycle bell?
I don’t think it was for a bike. I think something home related due to the fancy decorations. I found one identical but decorated differently.
Beautiful large cent Stew. The soil was kind to it. I love the old coppers with the green patina. The Indian heads are also one of my favorite coin designs. Congrats on the CW general service button too. Odd find for Indiana. 👍
Just ran across your site and subscribed Stew. Fellow Hoosier here from LaPorte County. I’m in NC now for the last 30 years. I still make it up that way once or twice a year. Been detecting about 20 years now myself. Your unidentifiable item is a parasol (umbrella) slide. I found a lot of those on CW sites here in NC. Great hunt. I love the coin turned into a whizzer. What part of the state are you in? Going to check out your other vids now.
I’m just south of the Fort Wayne area.
That token is cool.
Excellent video. Nice coins and buttons. Mandy sent me here😀👋👍
That is cool!!!!!!!!!! 😮
Very cool hunt 👊🏼
Yup it is
10 acres Woo-hoo 😊
Ground squirrels looking for walnuts or root grub. probably dug up the coins. I saw where a ground hog dug up a red carnelian gem in my yard.
North Central IN by the looks of it. I grew up in the south central, Bedford.
Very cool what a massive field to detect, cool finds Aladdin's Castle token really cool and of course the buckles are always awesome relics
I've been detecting for years and have yet to find most coins .... I need farm permissions but that hasn't gone very well
Look on gis and knock on doors. You will have to schedule your hunts before planting and after harvest. Most farmers don’t seem to mind if you’re not driving around in a muddy field. Good luck my friend and happy hunting.
@hoosierdetecting my area in PA farmers had stuff planted 1 week after corn and soybeans were cut and they all hunt their property so they say no
Nice video. I gave you a sub.
They made many things out of lead before it was common knowledge that it's poisonous.
I'm wondering why when you dig, you put the site in the shadows. When you look in the hole or lose dirt, you again leave us in the shadows. Please, we are here as observers to your finds. So let us be a part of your search, rather than making us wait till you decide to include us.. Just Me 😊.
The more I do this the more I notice things I’ve done wrong or could do better. One of the biggest things is setting up the camera and having the target in the shadow. Once I get through that footage that is already recorded hopefully that’s not a problem. I appreciate your input and that helps me learn as well.
YOUR 1877 IHP has about a $55 value so nice find. And braided hairs are always exciting.
I didn’t see an 1877 IHP dug, I saw an 1867. Did I miss something?
Awesome hunt 👊🏼
New subscriber Awsome finds thanks for sharing your video
Awesome
Congratulations
I'm shocked by how many coins you find.
Trust me it’s not always this good at all. I just so happened to be the first person to ever detect these sites. Next go around with these sites may just be broken up relics, which is still fun.
ive been hunting around his 1900 farm for about 5 yrs or so
you know my brother inlaw over in lafantaine in he turn me onto you page. ill be down there around thanksgiving if you wanna go hunting .
Sounds good if I’m around. Maybe away for the holiday.

Good hunt
Nice finds! I am a Hoosier living in east TN. Hard to find places to hunt down here.
Good luck!
Nice hunt! Congrats on the bucket lister- I'm still searching for a two cent piece.
Cool finds , in the 8 or so years of MD I've found many wheatties but never an Indian. Thanks for sharing bud.
Great finds. I like that you take your time getting the coins out without nicking them. I do the same thing. I figure if a relic or coin has been there for years, why be In a hurry. Thanks for the video. Philip - Ohio
Amazing finds, keep swinging.
What part on Indiana, I’m south west.
The two pieces u found in the field looks like pieces of reuns guide, but i beleive you found both pieces of a bull nose ring, hey thanks for bringing us along, great finds, take care!
Thanks for the info!
Interesting finds..
Thanks for sharing I loved searching for coins and stuff before becoming disabled I really enjoy watching people find rare old things.
That is a super clean 2 cent coin. found my first this year, gratz
Made it look easy 😮
hello, i just found your channel hope you do well with it, i live in indiana
ha ha you found a couple cents
It’s not often to find an eagle button or anything civil war related around here. It was a first for me. I hope to find more just to confirm that maybe a former resident possibly served during that time period.
