Two Buckeye Burl and Epoxy Pens - Woodturning
I had a customer on Etsy request two pens turned from blanks purchased from another store. They are both buckeye burl and epoxy. One blue, and one red. They turned out great!

I have had this maple burl cap sitting around my workshop for some time, and finally decided what to do with it. I used a beautiful piece of cherry burl as the base for this bowl, and inlaid a purple heart lattice, walnut and more cherry. I'm in love with the way this turned out, especially the Purple Heart. I turned this bowl using strips of cherry, walnut and padauk. The pattern is very simple, but yields a beautiful finished product! African blackwood is one of my favorite woods. It has absolutely stunning color and finishes very well, but is also fairly expensive. To get the most out of this small blank, I decided to add a few pieces of maple and red heart.

I thought it would be fun to turn something with a pokeball in it, so I made this small bowl for my girlfriend. The main part of the bowl is walnut. The pokeball was made with redheart, maple and gaboon ebony.

Nice bowl...!! I'm just a rookie woodworker and I've seen other videos that use the same black liquid for the holes in their projects. Could you or some other viewers tell me what it is..?? Some of some of my work have little touch up areas that I could use a hand in filling. Thanks for future info.
It’s starbond cyanoacrylate glue. Essentially super glue. You can get multiple thicknesses of it, and they also have an accelerator that cures it almost instantly. It’s great! I use it for a lot of things. It’s especially good for inlays with stone. You can get clear, black and brown

I worked with purple heart a few times. That stuff is scary dense. Almost lost a finger. It is one of the most beautiful woods out there. Like purple ebony.
