Definitely need chromoly in the head, the ramp is fast and high lift makes it really hard on the valve train ! 285 is considered high lift I think the reason there not more popular is the requirements. If your gonna have to modify your head, most decide ( if I’m spending this much for a 285) then go bigger 310-330 for the same price! Just my opinion! I like the 285, the clones start sounding good at 285 👍❤️

I got to repaint mine cause i didnt sand the primer and my paint flakes off to the touch. Hopefully sanding paint off then doing another primer layer, sand that then 2 paint layers+clear will work.

Is it worth it to buy a completed stage 3 Tilly engine from gopowersports? Around $1000 , I'm still new to minibikes and I'm no mechanic, that being said is it better to do that or buy a stock 212 Tilly and the upgrade kits to put in myself. Can you explain what’s the difference between a cheaper clutch and a high-performance clutch? I’m looking to buy a high-performance clutch for my stage three predator 212 on a DB 30 but I’ve been talking to the guy at OMB warehouse. He says he wouldn’t get a high-performance he would just use Max torque clutch. My engine is right around 14 HP.
