🏥 The Dark History of The Ridges: America's Most Haunted Asylum
Walk over the threshold of The Ridges, which used to be called the Athens Lunatic Asylum: this place could truly be an aberration of the American dream. Established in the year 1874, this building was constructed in the Victorian architecture style to serve as a healing place for the patients but instead it served as a hospital where patients were tortured in unspeakable ways, used to conduct bizarre experiments on them and as a site of paranormal activities.
Learn the story of Margaret Schilling, who was found dead under strange circumstances in 1978, and who to this very day has a stain that will never wash off. Take time and visit the nearly abandoned cemetery in the asylum whereby over 1,900 bodies of patients are buried in numbered graves and their identities are unknown.
