Congrats to be an owner o a great product, SD and the M4 Mac mini as well! For the Mac mini you for sure need an Apple monitor to go with it 🙂

@@willprytz Thanks. And I hope to get 6 to 7 years of use out of the monitor. I’ll likely have upgraded my Mac mini before I upgrade the monitor again.

I can’t pay this price for LCD at 60hz. They must update it with at lest mini-led if not tandem Oled and 120hz if not 240hz and thunderbolt 5 and hdmi 2.1 as all the new macs now have these ports and the new mac studio as well will have these same ports that can run high refresh rates than just 60. Finally the camera must be updated or at least remove it.

This was not a true unboxing since I was not the first owner of this Leica Q 🙂 I just wanted to show what the box looked like. After I bought this Q I did notice some minor noise on the sensor, which disturbed me. I sent the camera to Leica in Germany in order to clean it, and when I got the camera back I instantly taped over the mic holes.

@@willprytz Since this is a known issue with the Q due to lack of weather sealing, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to ask the seller to have it cleaned before they sell it. I sold my Dlux 109 because of the dust in the sensor so I know how it feels to see specks on images when you close down to f8 and above.

@@inchon66 True, true.... I was not that well familiar with the Leica Q back then, so I wasn't aware of the potential problem. However, it was a fairly good price still.

Yeah I have had that experience too. And these had been cleaned out. In the end I returned them to the reseller and they confirmed a software issue. They also told me I was not the only one who had experienced this problem. I hope they have fixed this problem by now and that Technics is back on track! Exactly - I agree 100% on everything you wrote! 🙂 Just the fact that the colors are so accurate straight out of the box was a huge + in my book. Congrats to the display and enjoy it! I have enjoyed mine a lot for the last couple of months. Did you get the one with nano texture or the one without?

Yeah - I saw that one! No, I am happy with my original Q. If I would to upgrade it would be to a Q2 (preferably the Q2 reporter since I love the look of that one). I have always loved the wide angle look, it suits my shooting style better, so I would prefer the original Q3 with 28mm over the new 43 mm 🙂

I ordered two in June and got them both in August, so your mileage varies depending on retailer. Wex told me jan 2025 but I just found other smaller retailers and they came through

Yes, I agree! I listened to an interesting podcast the other day, the guest was Yuval Harari. He talked about exactly that. People are triggered by hate and fear. It's in our biology. If the social platform companies want to increase time spent on their platforms they might expose us by content that triggers hate and fear. These companies often refer to "freedom of speech" as a defense. But a algorithm or bott doesn't have the right to freedom of speech. If botts and algorithms owned by a company produce false information, then the company must be responsible for that. Just as newspapers are responsible for what they publish. A democracy is built on communication. If we don't communicate and start seeing each other as enemies instead, there is a risk that democracy will die... Maybe the humans will destroy themselves, while AI just may be a tool. A tool that can be very dangerous if handled the wrong way.

I don't have them anymore since they actually stopped working (my 2nd pair). The store where I bought them told me that I was not the only person with this problem (some kind of software problem I believe) so that's interesting.

Mine did breake at the 6 month mark, great sound from the start, amazing after that. Still working as new

@@frankartale1026 No, no worries at all! I think it's refreshing and cool when people do what they like instead of just follow whats "hyped" or "hot" by the vast majority. Which focal length do you prefer?

@@willprytz honestly 35mm field of view . my griiix is just a smidge tight. I had a 25mm which is around 37mm apsc and it was perfect to me but no autofocus. So ill stick to 35 because they dont have a lens in between

You can shoot the Q at 28/35/50. The image quality even at 50mm is unbelievable.

I saw videos from others who recommended the height adjustable stand, and I'm happy with it even though the extra cost for it is on the high end. However, I think you will be able to find a good stand. Thank you!

@@willprytzI found myself facing a situation where Macbook blocks the bottom part of the ASD (when placed in front of it to be exact) and so tried with a riser but later on realized that ASD already sits relatively high on my desk and additonal height would just make it non-ergonomic (kind of inverted version of looking down at your screen when your working on a laptop). There would be no issues if one could extend the MBA screen a little further away but it cannot be done. In the end I found a rather silly solution but it works for now. I moved a dock to the left side of the screen and resized all of my windows to sit above the part where MBA (M2, 13”) covers the ASD.

Sorry my bad, *bought it, I meant. And no, when it comes to money I'm not rich. But I saved and prioritized this for my hobby/work as photographer and video maker.

Thanks! Oh, I never had any other Leica Systems, but that says a lot if your favourite is the Q - nice! High quality, discrete, retro look but still modern on the inside must be some of the essence attributes? 🙂

​@@willprytz it's the literal essence of Leica in a small portable package. beautiful optic and slick user experience, simple user interface and beautiful sensor. It's co incidentally around the same size as the first Leitz camera ever made. Also I love the lightness of the camera. With the exception of Hasselblad x1d, I'm so over big bulky and heavy cameras.
