And now we have this shit? and the brits are claiming this is the "Most preserved" Mummy ever discovered? are you in some "paleopathology drama" that we don't know of? usually, in the science community if there's a new discovery in almost every aspect of science is being celebrated, and being studied at by other scientists to form a peer review. in this case, it looks like they just wanted to have a "WHO HAS THE BIGGEST DICK" contest to show who has made The "Ultimate Discovery" instead of actually helping out the scientific community to improve. see the case about Joan Fletcher, an Egyptologist who got banned in Egypt (ban was rescinded after a few years) for claiming that they found the tomb of Queen Nefertiti. The Egyptian Government went ballistic because they're not the ones who "Found it first". as a result Joan Fletcher was banned from conducting any kind of research in Egypt. But her ban was lifted afterward and her claims are still being debated to this day because no one can prove if what she discovered is indeed the "real tomb and remains mummified remains of the Queen. I thought YT influencers and tiktok brainrot ghouls are the only ones who's clout-hungry. guess i was wrong. Anyways this is just my 2 cents and IDGAF if you throw shade at me. This is just the way how i view things now because of all of this Clout-chasing drama that the majority of people consume on a daily basis.

If he was fighting on horseback and was hit in the head with a club or mace (which in the Medieval times, were common weapons to fight with on horseback), causing him to fall from his horse, then that would explain both his jaw injury and his broken ribs injury. Even today, falling from horseback can easily cause broken bones injuries and it is hard to imagine that a knight of his status would not have been on horseback.

Thank you for this interesting introduction to the world of the mysterious Cathars. I highly recommend a tour of the Cathar regions, having live there based near Albi, a town I know well, for many years. Montsegur is another story, representing the end of southern independence. The Catholic Church was very intolerant of any other point of view that their own whereas the regional people were very tolerant. The Crusaders saw rich lands and booty as rewards for their crusade. Visiting Montsegur starts with a steep climb not for the faint hearted. The view is very spectacular. However I and some others felt a strong sense of great sadness within the walls of Montsegur. Still, well worth your time, ideally during fair weather.

If I could do my life over I would want to be the person who examine the skeletal remains in those museums. I watch a lot of these documentaries and was lucky enough to see some remains (or copies of them? It was at Stonehenge and I can’t quite remember if the remains were the real deal, knot that it matters.) and I got to see the Catacombs in Paris, so it added to my fascination. Ah, I’ll have to settle for these docs.

What a wonderful find. The only problems I had was that the coffin was open without taking any type of precautions to the body and to the people involved. The documents were handled without wearing gloves. Our hands touch to many things and can cause for that important piece of history to deteriorate. I think everyone involved was very irresponsible when handling everything involved with that excavation. It is still amazing how well preserved his body was. I would love to know what language was the letter written in.
