FORD Lightning 5000 mile review!!

Ford lightning 5000 mile review. So far so good no problems knock on wood. My only complaint would be the tires seem to be wearing quickly. Yes I did rotate them at 5000 awesome car rides like a Cadillac Escalade plus it’s even faster not the sportiest of rides just verysmooth. Great work truck great family hauler. Great tow vehicle if you don’t need a tow far.

Hasn't been around long enough my man that's my opinion on it
Hi i really like your bike, dou you have the code of the handlebars?
We have a 2022 model they've made some nice improvements (probably based on complaints from us early owners). Don't care for where they moved the light switch though, it used to be right when you came in. I like you found the rubber bumpers, we've had ours for years.
Thanks for watching. It’s just a different tool. About $11,000 cheaper to I believe $10,000 cheaper lol but yes it’s just a different tool for the job.
No all good so far
Its a game changer for towing when not needing the diesel #'s
Not on my 23 F150, come to a stop and it feels like it stumbles and falls back down to first, doesn’t seem to do that in normal mode though. I might have a problem.
Thanks for sharing. Love the clear dots. How is the clearance in the rear. I worry that the jacks seated so far back will drag when coming off a driveway.
We had a very steep driveway and had no problems with dragging.
Are you joking? Not in the top 20
Easy and straight to the point. Thank you
I had to emergency brake, when I got home the red adapter was loose, and the hitch turned in the bed. I am going to use lock tite on the allen screws that hold the adapter tight.
Lets hope they don't cook him
Hey, thanks for watching. We sold the alliance at a great financial loss every time we went out something broke on it. It just took the fun out of camping. I realize RVs break. I’ve been camping for 30 years, but this is by far the worst RV I’ve ever had. I’m not saying all the alliance RVs are like this. Maybe ours was built on a Friday I don’t know but every time we would go and we go quite frequently maybe 20 or 30 times a year, I would have to spend 2or3 hours repairing something. That was just our experience. I love the floor plan. Most of stuff was small things but time consuming but somewhere bigger like the front was leaking somehow a brand new camper that was our luck.
After one year, do you still feel the same about Alliance and your 26RD? Thanks
Water for dog please
A must do mod for any truck! I’ve had some on my old truck for a few years and I’ll never go back to not having em, I’m about to put some sumosprings on my new to me 2006 Silverado 1500! They just had a great deal on them for Black Friday that saved me almost 80 bucks on a set!
Beautiful baby ❤❤❤
He is so adorable 🤗
The ears😂
Move over so the dog can lay down😅
Super cool small world take care God bless thanks for watching
That is our camper to your right site 34! Nice video!
Thanks for this vid - I am researching options of how to connect an EVSE with a bottom-only entry from conduit that comes in from the ceiling. I like that 90 degree elbow + flex conduit idea.
No, got a company to do it. Looks great.
Fabulous look. Did Tesla wrap it?
Things no one actually asked
Forget charging! Tell us about how the lighting towed the trailer behind it. How far? How was the handling?
@@gyposse why? Are you looking to tow a vehicle over 300 miles a day? Cuz then you're going to look for an internal combustion motor and spend a hell of a lot more money. But if you're looking to just tow your RV for 200 mi then the electric vehicle is right up your alley! You got to be more clear on what you're looking for. And if you're a troll which is what I'm expecting you to be because you're stupid question then just go piss off.
After one year, are you still happy with your 26RD? This 'fiver' is on the top of our list for a new one.
We have sold the 26 RD we were not happy with it every time we took it out. There was problems plus all the initial problems of listed in videos that I fix myself every time literally not trying to be mean to alliance. There was a problem so we took a $20,000 hit and traded it And got a grand design. I will say that they did ship out the parts for #Warranty every time no problem it was mostly just little things, but even the roof leaked through the front of it leaked on a brand new RV. You should not have that problem. Good luck in your purchase whichever brand you go withthat was just ours. Maybe it was made on a Friday. I don’t know.
Most older Campgrounds are not wired to handle using every plug in the box. Get 3 of you doing that and there main breaker will be tripping
@@zmanzman2100 I have never had this issue. The Ford Mobile charger recognizes the charge that it's getting and how much charges needed and automatically knows what it can do. So I'm not sure as to where you're plugging in that it would be tripping at all. The Ford mobile adapter goes from literally plugging into a regular wall socket. So I would blame the place that you're at for tripping which I doubt you even have a lightning in the first place and you're just looking to troll people. Because that is my experience. Back in my day If you didn't know anything you stayed quiet. But these days they like to push their propaganda which is laughable because I can prove with my own s*** that you're garbage and your opinion means nothing.
I have the Lightning and I love it. The frunk is better and the backseat is roomier in the Ford. I don’t like the attention the cybertruck attracts. Very few blindspots on the Ford. I’m happy you have both and don’t have to pay for gas.
Anyone who buys the Ford Lightning is just like you and I brother, we love it to pieces! Ford headed out of the park by making it a normal truck instead of something like the cybertruck. Although I do respect The cybertruck for its own strengths, there is nothing better than a real truck to do real towing to do real hauling with then the Ford. If I wasn't going to get a Ford it would have been a ribbian with the new tow package. Are you and I both know every year they're going to come up with a better version of what they got. So let's see what Ford comes up with next.
Please use landscape mode so my screen is easier to see your videos. Thanks
Hey, thanks for watching. Yes, I totally agree with you about the software engineers part of it. They could also do away with the gear handle that you change gears just seems like a wasted space with an EV. You make some excellent points about the mode and all the OK buttons that pop upbut I also it’s the best vehicle I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of vehicles really enjoy it, but I wish it had some features like the cyber truck has in the Software or the Rivian. Everything has pluses and minuses doesn’t it take care?
I also found sport mode to be best at efficiency and most comfortable to drive with but I gave up on it. I hate that I have to wait several seconds for a pop up screen and 2 seconds to press ok to keep it in sport mode every time I start the truck. I have to be so attentive waiting for it to ask so that I am ready to press ok. If I forgot or got distracted, then I have to go hunting into a menu system to put it back in sport. I just want to start my truck and drive already. I got so use to sport mode and its much more aggressive slowing of the vehicle. It is quite jarring when you are expecting to slow down a certain way but instead are coasting because it switched itself back to normal. I just said to myself, it's not worth it. If they don't want to make the settings stick for each user/fob then I''ll just stick to the default. I love my lightning but the software engineers working at Ford should be forced to live with the vehicles they are working on. What may seem a good way of doing things on paper sometimes does not translate well in the real world. Don't even get me started with all the nagging ok presses needed when you have a trailer attached.
Here’s a simple step. You can make drive mode to be right at the very bottom of your screen. Just make that one of your preferred settings and then you always have it at the bottom. I change drive modes often depending on whether I’m driving on a windy road on the highway or around town.
Nice to see a variety of colors in that set up
I got my lightning and I didn't get my charger until 6 months afterward. I had to go out and buy the mobile charger because there was no way for me to charge my lightning other than driving a hundred miles out of my way. And then Ford had the audacity to say that they gave me free charging through electrify America. So if I was to buy any electric vehicle it would definitely not be from Ford. Buy a Tesla! If I could do this all over again I definitely would not buy my lightning. The purchasing experience was absolutely terrible for $80,000, which brings me to another point. That $80,000 vehicle that I purchased from Ford is only worth $46,000 right this second. So I've already lost 34,000 and there's nothing wrong with my truck. It's just depreciated so quickly because it's a Ford. So do not buy a Ford electric vehicle ever!
I bought mine for 37k best vehicle I have ever owned
@TristenHernandez did you read anything about my experience or did you just say I like my lightning. What was your experience as to purchasing the vehicle? Did they give you a mobile charger? Or did they give you the ability to install a charger at home? How long did it take you to get your charger at home? That is the stuff that anybody who is reading my comment wants to know. What was different between my experience which was horrible and your experience about getting the vehicle charged?
@@rxibot I had a charger installed in my driveway before the truck was delivered. But the charger got mailed to me later (I think employees were stealing them and selling them and the adapters on eBay, in fact I think the adapter I bought was from an employee). I keep the mobile charger in the frunk. I When we travel I charge on the Tesla network. I’m a contractor but we also use it for camping. I’ll link to my TH-cam channel hang on.
@@rxibotthis is my TH-cam channel about my experience. I have more videos coming just don’t have time.
I got mine for 35 grand I think what we’ve learned is by a used one and that’s really the best deal because I’ve had no further depreciation
You can tow up to 10,000 pounds of course it has more than enough power to tow anything. It’s just a suspension limit but they say it’ll tow 10 as far as the range 240 miles with the standard range battery but you usually only charged a 90% run it down to 10 so 80% of that 240 is real worldbut you can charge to 100 and run it all the way down to zero and you would have 240 or more in range depending on many different circumstances whether how fast you’re driving, etc.
Wack. Sounds like a neighborhood vehicle. Good to know thanks.
What’s the range on a full charge? What can it tow?
Valid points. Let see if he answers truthfully.
I have the standard range and I get about 250 in the city. I get around 3 miles per KW. It's so smooth Towing. I haven't done any long distance Towing with it as I just use it for my boat to the river/lake That's all within 30 Miles. I tell you what you got to be very careful Towing this thing will throw a boat off a trailer. I'm so used to not strapping my boat down as my other trucks are so much weaker And it's such a short drive. It's so powerful You cannot be lazy. Put a strap on it 😂 . It's probably twice as fast as my GTO off the line.
Spit and glue it, just get the RV out the door
Enjoyed your tour. Thanks for sharing.
No
What kind of towing range do you get with the camper? Is this an extended range trucks? Does the tow package impact range or just allows to tow more?
Thanks for watching. My truck is a standard Grange battery pulling my trailer I get about 110 to 120 miles range. It basically cuts it in half and as far as the towing package that doesn’t affect anything all it does is help keep the batteries a little cooler I believe when towingtake care God bless.
Great video, thanks for showing the sites. What type back do you have?
Thanks for watching. I don’t think so although with the right equipment, you can pretty much mount anything but it probably wouldn’t look too good and maybe not stay in place.
could you mount on the down tube if i dont like it on top tube?
I also have a leak straight to the ground in the bath tub.. It's the black pipes under the tub
I need to change my water hose connection the male end looks like it was squeezed with a nice grip or something. It's took some hellacious strength to bend that but I do not know how to replace it. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO..
Mmmmmm! Love scrambled eggs and ground beef! Or even better, steak and eggs!
I love my truck but it doesn’t have very many miles compared to 126,000. But it is a heavy duty truck. It should last a long time the engine all depends on the maintenance you do to it and luck of the draw also if it’s gone 126,000 miles with no major repairsbased on my life experiences only lol I would think it would last a long time. Good luck with it God bless.
