SSBM - Event 7 - 6.78 [TAS WR]

Changed to Porygon2 on the first kill instead of self destruct (-19f), and a Moltres spike on the second kill (-6f). RNG manipulation was done to get the right Pikachu movements, the fastest possible Pokeball and the right Pokemons at the right frame. For example, if the Moltres hitbox comes out before Pikachu is vulnerable, he will air dodge.

First TAS of this event. RTA WR is 2.60 (-23f) by SW-1988 th-cam.com/video/xBVOmP5LjIk/w-d-xo.html Ivysaur is usually the bottleneck, at least when he jumps like in the RTA run (which he most often does), but having him dash/forward smash speeds it up.

Also it was made without codes, according to mugg the 15.52 used a Moltres code. Optimal RNG would be two red shells and a bat. Previous PB 5741.6 ft (221%) New strat by typo involving a grab, very fun one! Haven't tried the old 221% strat but this one sure looks easier too. Got a 218% complete quickly, maxing took longer cause the dair is still annoying.

Meh.. I mean, yeah technically the fastest anyone has ever done it, but.. How to replicate this? Bait ganon's AI the same way using the same moves and/or LUCK, get the same item spawns with LUCK, Listen. Im not downplaying your uncontested skill, here, but it's like some of the other event match world records, here- All Im saying is let's call a wrench, a wrench. If I sat down and got the hang of the same order of the same exact inputs in the space of 10 seconds, wouldnt it just come down to luck after that? Id be awfully more impressed if items were off, and you pummeled ganon off the side, yourself, instead of getting the derpy computer derp itself off the ledge. But yeah, technically fastest ever... Good.. job..? Again, I couldnt do this unless I had a ton of practice and even then it would be really difficult, but like I said.. in 10 seconds, there's only so many ways to move your character to bait the melee ai into desired patterns.. then, line up the right lucky item.. It isnt in the realm of astounding impossibility. It would be more impressive without the cheese and jank. Do it without items or getting the computer to throw itself off a ledge in under 20 seconds that would be cool.
Do you... do you not know how Event Matches work? Do you even know what TAS stands for?
TAS stands for tool-assisted superplay. It means that what you're looking at is an attempt at finding the _best scenario_ in the game. It's not a _skill_ problem, it's an _optimization_ problem. "Try it with items turned off." YOU CAN'T TURN ITEMS OFF IN AN EVENT MATCH.
That’s a lot of words to say “Cool TAS but I actually think it’d be cooler if you did it slower”
Some speedruns are going to have a lot of luck involved - that's just how it is. That's no reason to be passive aggressive about it. There are plenty of games where there is less luck involved too...maybe watch one of those instead, if this bothers you so much?
