They filmed The Flintstones in Vazquez too. My family and I moved to Saugus in late 85 or early 86. I used to dig for fossils where Haskell Canyon and Copper Canyon meet. Saugus is extremely haunted

I was born in the late 80’s in val verde (northwest santa clarita valley). I grew up in saugus in the 90’s and went to saugus high. I joined the air force and got stationed in oxnard 45 minutes west of santa clarita, so in 2008 i got an apartment in Valencia right down the street from magic mountain. A decade later i lives in stevenson ranch for a year. My brother lives in canyon country and my uncle and grandma live in north valencia. I had to move out of state a few years back when i got out of the military. Growing up in santa clarita in the 90’s was the greatest time and place to ever live. Up until about 2015 it was very different as the valley grew, but still very fun. The santa clarita valley was like the shire; it was separate from the rest of the whole world. It was so peaceful, so unique, so charming. I will always love that valley from the 1980’s to the 2000’s more than i loved any woman or possession or vacation. I always thought i would live a long happy life there and meet my end there, but eventually i couldnt afford it. I hate where i live now. I have a big nice house with woods in my backyard, and a nice muscle car, but it will NEVER be “home” to me. Santa clarita in the last 5 years has become a cesspool of crime and homelessness and massive overpriced real estate and no coziness or history anymore. Now its just a crowded, congested extension of downtown LA. But for anyone who read this far, and lived there at the height of the santa clarita golden age, maybe youll understand why i loved old santa clarita like HP Lovecraft loved Providence or John Adams loved Massachusetts. There will never be another 1990’s santa clarita valley, and though im grateful i got to experience the first time, i would give anything except my soul for a chance to go back and relive my 25 years in that town (and avoid the youthful mistakes this time around haha).

I was 4 when this happened. I slept through it, but I do vaguely remember my parents carrying me outside in my pink blanket, talking to our neighbor right after it happened. My mom explained to me (as you would to a 4 year old) what happened, and said the house was dancing and I thought that was hilarious 😂 I’m 33 now. Been an SCVer nearly all my life.
